Marimar Estate Tempranillo Don Miguel Vineyard

Silky and clear pinot noir. Good representation of RRV without being overly fruit forward or high alcohol. Beautiful garnet color. Distinct spices - clove cinnamon- on the nose with red cherry. Clean and soft mouthfeel indicating supple tannins. Cassis and hint of cola to end on mid finish.

A good effort. None of the complexities of tempranillo

Agree with tdodge that this needs more acid since it feels flabby. Tempranillo can be lovely and intriguing, but this is just kind of meh. Not much else to say. There are more interesting wines elsewhere.

Good quality. Just not my thing. Felt too much like Russian River and not enough like Tempranillo. Beautiful dark red fruit up front and a whiff of the cola you get from Russian River Pinot. The palate is super silky. Is opulent the right word? A little more acid would have lifted the whole thing.

Nice wine, good garnet color. Smooth, full bodied, decent finish and great taste/representation of Pinot.

Sultry, intense nose with great definition. Spicy and peppery on the palate. Elegant but powerful. Drinking now or hold. WSET Notes: Pale garnet. Pronounced on the nose with violet, raspberry, vanilla, incense, cranberry, blackberry, blackcurrant leaf, cloves, cinammon, cedar, dark chocholate, smoke, tobacco, leather, caramel, cola. Developing Pronounced and dry on the palate with pepper notes coming through. High acidity, medium tannins, medium body. high alcohol, long finish. Can drink now but has potential for ageing.

I don’t normally love RRV Pinots, but this one is great. Rich red fruit, but balanced nicely by orange peel, sage, sarsaparilla, earth, and violet. Screaming acid, great structure, great balance.

Good balance, spicy and nice fruit. My go to PN! Good now and will probably improve from further storage.
