The Haut Condissas '12 is spectacular. Showing just the beginnings of tertiary. The tannins have yet to integrate and the bottle is just beautiful. I would suggest this is just now entering its drinking window as it was wonderful right out of the bottle but that it has years ahead. Drink now to 2032 or longer.

absolute wow. This is showing no signs of fading, and honestly tasted young. Probably not even peak. I am no expert, but this could easily go another5+ years. For the price I bought it, incredible QPR. I wish I had more bottles. Layered, black fruit, mushroom, forest floor. Delicious. I was burned by a prominent reviewer from many years ago (2018?) so I wish I had kept my earlier bottles longer.

needed about 1 hr of air; wonderful wine, great balance, some dark fruit up front, with forest floor, chocolate, graphite, much less tannic than the past.

Château Haut Condissas, Médoc, 2017: Tasted multiple times over 24 hours, with a 4 hours initial decanting. Deep, almost impenetrable purple in color. On the nose, aromas of smoke, ripe blackberries, cassis, tilled earth, some smoky saline notes, nutmeg, cigar box and vanilla. Full-bodied, with nice concentration. On the palate, ripe crunchy blackberries and black currants, followed by graphite, rich tobacco, sweet vanilla, loamy dirt, roasted portobello, soy sauce, medium acidity, with grainy, slightly chewy tannins as well as notes …

Amazing. Young but drinks well. Opens very extracted and fruity but with air, settles into wonderful balance with layers of flavor and an extraordinarily long finish. Great structure.

With early approachability, the deep-colored wine shows some agreeable sweetness and a little flesh. There are soft tannins and a licorice, espresso, red fruity finish.

This wine is ripe but have an amazing structure and freshness to hold that. Good depth on a juicy mid palate. Moderate finish. Very pleasant wine

....and time did ! The wine turned (and for the better). 4 years ago I had the impression of a dancing wine not knowing how and in which direction to develop. Now it is clear: it has become s very focused, dark, deep, good fruited....just delicious wine. Tannins still strong, smell and taste without any signs of overripeness now. Strong indications of developing in direction Grand Cru Classé in terms of quality and price.

Château Haut Condissas, Médoc 2012: This wine is a blend of 60% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Petit Verdot and 10% Cabernet Franc. Dark purple, with a nose of ripe, crushed berries such as cassis and blackberries, anis, dark chocolate, toasted oak as well as a hint of wet forest floor. Full-bodied and highly extracted, with flavors of dark forest berries, graphite, licorice, bell pepper, espresso and bakers chocolate. Very well-balanced, but the tannins have yet to integrate and are …

Oaky, with licorice, coffee bean and a black cherry personality, the wine has enough polish to be enjoyed on release. 85-87 Pts

Popped and poured. Not as good as the last bottle. Maybe not enough time to breath?

The nose is exposed to a light smell of overripeness which I did not expect from this vintage and the moderate 12,5% alcohol. Elegance is not the strong point, but power of fruit and deepness. Haut Condissas-Prestige is a special cuvée of Chateau Rolan de By (cru bourgeois) and about double priced, which means a level of some good crus classés. At the moment this wine for me is too blockbuster-like - may-be time can modify that.

Open and decant for 2 hours in the bottle. On the nose a lot of ripe black fruits, hint of chocolate, very pleasant. The palate is mineral, earthy, black fruits. Medium body, excellent length. Still need time to develop but drink well now. Great wine.

Brought over to my place by Alex. Served blind, I thought it was a bit modern, especially on the nose, but still clearly a Medoc. Lots of dry undergrowth, tobacco leaf, licorice and cassis when poured straight from the bottle, but after some decanting, I also got notes of green leafiness, capsicum, and more sweet tones - both from fruit and oak. Fiona remarked that it smelt like a Blackforest cake, which I thought was spot-on. Some smokiness was wreathing …

Once again, a very sweet cassis and sweet ripe plum nose with lots of tobacco leaf and dark chocolate. This time round I do get some capsicum. Some beefy nose as well. Essentially still a v parker wine but none of those OTT aussies. This , although sweet and ripe on the palate, is definitely more restrained and has a clean bright finish. At the end, the tannins do show. Probably needs some more aging.

Robust nose of dark violets, ripe plums and plastercine backed by pain grille, oak and tobacco chocolate. Big weigthy dark fruits nicely accented by exotic wood spices. Big but still beautiful. Feels like a margaux. A non OTT parker style wine.

Wine For Asia 2008 (Suntec City Singapore) : Quite a sweet fruity nose. Pretty modern on the fruits but does end with some frech earthy terroir notes.

Bright, pleasing aromas on the nose; on the palate many flavours cascade with lots of red and black fruits; excellent finish. Grand vin.
