Challenging but thrilling acidity is the electrifying first impression from this colombard/gros manseng blend from the ever reliable Plaimont co-operative. Unsweetened lemon and sour cooking apple flavours predominate but are softened slightly by a lovely trace of elderflower. £4.80, Tesco.
