Popped and poured into a decanter, then immediately into a glass. Color: Darker than I expected from a Gamay. Not quite translucent, but close. Slightly lighter along the rim. Aromas: Immediately after pouring, the first whiff was earthy mushroom, but strawberries rushed to the fore within seconds. Over the next few minutes it took on a cheap strawberry bubblegum aroma. Not unpleasant, but more something I would have enjoyed in a bubblegum as a child, not a glass of wine …

Mouthfull of strawberries and cherries. Bright acidity, nice finish. Excellent with food. A beautiful Cru Beaujolais.

what a nice change of pace for a Beaujolais -- it has the strawberry nose typical of a BJ Nouveau, but more body, moderate tannins and a long finish. This is wine you can serve lightly chilled or at room temperature. This went great with roasted chicken and I could easily see it as a great red for a Thanksgiving dinner.
