Poggiotondo Chianti Riserva

This is either getting better and better or I am going senile. Either way I am really enjoying this wine - so does it matter?

Dare I say this is getting better with another year or two. Plums, dark cherries, an almost creamy note. Firm, almost dusty tannins, with a fresh acidity, that is nicely balanced. A medium length - perhaps the only real shortcoming. This actually has a bit of character over and above a regular Chianti.

Nicely restrained fruit, but with enough power to keep you interested. Plums, cherries, some floral notes. Very dry finish. Enjoyable
