Red berry aromas with black pepper (vintage). Not unlike all of the natural Spanish stuff that I just ran through. Albeit with more body and concentration here. A potpourri note to the palate.

Pop and pour for dinner tonight (braised beef stew and fried polenta). Dark, rich and ripe fruits on the nose - blackberries and fig with a hint of pomegranate (?) Pretty garnet color, the meniscus shows pretty color as well. Still lovely zip of acidity, and great mouthfeel - plenty of weight, and a richness that has developed with age. Really haven't had much experience with Carmenere but this bottle gives us good reason to search out more. An excellent bottle, with herbal notes along with some dark cherry and raspberry. An exceptional and rare Italian Carmenere. 90+ pts.

Black raspberry aromas. lots of mineral on the palate, a really svelte licorice note that draws a line right down the middle of this wine. A green mossy aspect to the finish. A very pleasurable Italian amari, makes this wine still destined for a good future. Up front on the palate dried flowers, making way for solid concentration on the palate.

This is in a good drinking place. Smooth and rounded but with enough structure and acidity to work well with food. Blackberry and dark plum on the nose, soft with a little new wood and some dried herbs -maybe a tinge of green vegetable, palate more of the same blackberry, plummy and currant notes, nice drying finish and juicy sweet aciidty. Almost new world in ripeness, would not pick this as an Italian wine - but this was excellent.

Deep dark colors of red currant. Medium- to full bodied with some acidity at first taste. Definitely needs to breath to open up. Then it develops its full flavor and becomes very smooth.

Good wine, nice acidity, red fruits (raspberry, a little currant maybe), but not typical of the bittersweet chocolate I expect from carmenere. Of course, it's not Chilean and maybe they used less oak or macerated differently. Opened up after a while but never had the bookbinding leather smell I like or the bittersweet finish. Wife liked it better than the Apaltagua but I didn't. Not bad but I'm not going back for more unless I decide to treat it as …

Nose opens up nicely and spills out of the glass. Rounded mouthfeel (probably from the merlot) with some fat, red stone fruits and berries, light handed oakiness, nicely developed tannins and still fresh with some acidity. Very nice drinking blend. Doubt there will be much more positive development, we'll drink the rest of ours over the next year.

Deep red, dark tart fruits and fresh acidity - really very good and surprising! Very easy to drink - but some complexity with graphite, chocolate and herbs alongside the fresh fruit all supported by pleasing freshness from the acidity and ripe tannin. Lovely

Went perfectly with Randy's homemade gloriously fresh pizza! (Particularly well with the Glorioso's pepperoni on it...) Refined and with a bright streak of acid in the middle that keeps it buoyant, fresh and alive. Drinks with ease and with lovely lift while remaining restrained and structurally bounded.

Rich nose of spice and dark berries. Really fresh nose. Nice hint of chocolate as it opened. Some smokiness. Refreshing acidity and medium bodied. Well balanced with flavors of fresh berries and baking spices. After it opened, the berries took on a baked feel. Some nice black pepper.

Medium red garnet. High toned but thoroughly ripe red berries and plums; this fruit is exceptionally deep for such a modestly priced wine. Accented by some sneaky sweet and just feintingly oaky aromas of clove, allspice, and red licorice. as well as some lightly burnt earth and faint (faint enough not to detract) weediness. Round, ripe and generous, but with a dash of lipsmacking acidity too, this is polished but lively and characterful modernist wine.

Outstanding stony red cherry, plum. The wood complements the fruit. The merlot elements stand out. After an hour this began to fade. Pop, pour and enjoy. This reminds me I need a few more 2000 Oracolo for the cellar.

Well balanced, tasty with juicy black plum and currant fruit. Interesting, slight notes of vegetal green notes on the nose, does not smell like an Italian wine. Loses the green hints on the palate, juicy, good acidity, sweet midpalate with a nice tasty currant and cherry finish. A little hint of pepper on the finish, tasty but overall not hugely complex.

Nice. Loaded up front with smokey fruits and a strong backbone. Has the brassiness from a Chilean Carmenere but a lot more subtlety and finesse. This was my second bottle of this and the first was a lot flatter.

After initial funk blew off, very nice fruit and soft tannins. If I had tasted this blind I would probably have guessed it to be French. Nice, subtle, finish of vanilla and oak. Lovely wine. Great QPR.
