Clear amber toffee colour. Raisins nuts on the nose. On first glass the spirit dominated the nose and palate but gave way to balanced fruit sweetness acidity gentle tannins. Given it was 50 years old it wasn’t past its best and was drinking very nicely.

This is an incredible port. Loads of butter scotch, leather, earth, the finish goes on forever. The first 1/2 bottle was with coravin, the finished it off 6 months latter with no clear loss. I wish I had bought more.

Coravined a nice glass for Jim and myself to finish off our tasting for the night. I've been holding these for a while but haven't sampled my stash yet. I'll preface by saying I really like a good aged, well made Tawny Port and this one did not disappoint. I'll save everyone from the same note as Harley below, as he laid it all out very well in his note from November. I will also support his statement that the …

Pristine cork. Beautiful mahogany colour. Aromas of delicious dried fruits like peaches, apricots, figs or plums. Also nutty, caramel with a sandwood touch. That's complexity. On the palate showed deep and tasty. Creamy texture with good acidity. Alcohol well-integrated. Excellent length for a evocative aftertaste. 25 years on this tawny, aged to perfection, gonna have a slowly decline yet. Xmas is coming. Despite some Danish opinions 91.2 points sound like a joke by the way. 11.26.24 Believe it or not …

Bottled June 2022. Complex elegant rancio aromas. Delicate and still with a primary fruit lift. Palate follows, with great length, delicacy, elegance and complexity. Very high quality spirit. A remarkable “tawny”.

Bottled June 2022. Wow!!! Vital. Full of energy. Wonderful refined rancio characters. Wonderful developed complexity with vibrant acidity. Head and shoulders above the 1997 and 2007 at this stage. Wonderfully structured.

Jula varer helt til påske. Kandiserte appelsinskall, tydelig alkohol. 3 uker i flaske: krydret lukt med litt aceton og tørket frukt. Sømefull smak med sultan rosiner

Cloudy deep tawny colour. Medium nose with fig, raisins, prune, caramel and cinnamon. Pronounced taste of fig, caramel, cinnamon, raisins, prune and vanilla. Long and sweet finish. High acidity. Light tannins. Full body. A great Colheita. Goes well by itself or with fruit, caramel or cream based deserts or cheese.

Utrolig snadder vin!

Excellent port wine. Challenge is to treat wine well after opening when it is not drunk in short time. We manage to avoid that the quality deteriorates after opening

2015 Port Harvest Tour; 9/26/2015-10/3/2015 (Portugal) : Bottled 2015. Orange with amber hints of color. Subtle butterscotch and honey on the nose. Orange peel, light mocha notes and some salted caramel on the unctuous mid-palate. Great tannins and acidity.

Very pleasant with chocolate and Christmas cake spice notes. It is sweet but fresh and was good but looked really simple next to an 1970 Madeira.

Лучший портвейн, который мне доводилось пробовать. Восхитительный вкус и аромат. Согласно этикетки, вино пролежало в бочке 15 лет (бутылированно в 2012 году). Жаль, что у меня осталось только 5 бутылок!

Pale tawny color with aromas of cloves, candied orange, molasses, toffee, honey, dried fruit. On the palate, the wine is sweet with a med+ flavor intensity (same aromas on the nose) with a long finish. The wine is outstanding.

This was my first REAL Tawny Port Experience, and was a referral from a locally wine shop that deals in smaller batch finds like this. Im used to LBV or Vintage Ports, so the lighter color was different, which looked like burnt sugar to me, maybe some dried orange rind. The nose has that caramel nose, with some dried citrus action. Maybe some nutty components, but not striking to me. The palate is lighter, smoother, and somewhat butter-scotchy (made that …

Charity Auction Dinner (The Farm) : Fantastic. Beautiful pale nut brown. Nose was nuts, toffee, figs. Palate was smooth with hazelnut and some creme brulee. Smooth finish without the alcohol I was expecting at the end. This will be gone in days. Need to find more. (4+14+18+8) (I realize that I'm way above other scorers - maybe I don't drink enough VP, but in comparison to 20 year tawnys, I found this to be outstanding).

Excellent—nuttier (hazelnuts dominate), and slightly less dense and intense than the Taylor 20-year tawny, which just oozes dried apricots and glorious richness.

Color: Almost a perfect tawny color - medium dark with the right amounts of both brown and orange. Slightly green at the rim. Nose: Some VA or high-toned alcohol, but it's not distracting. LOTS of vanilla or vanilla custard. Some caramel, some cotton candy. Just a little bit of coffee to prevent it from being too soft and sweet. Palate: Delicious. Rich and full. Very much on the sweet side; perhaps lacking a bit in acidity. Some brown sugar and …

Beautiful amber color. A tad alcoholic on the nose upon opening - but for the rest superb balance between fine tannins and fruit. Extremely long in the mouth. Superbe robe ambrée. Un peu alcoolique au nez - mais pour le reste un superbe équilibre entre les tannins raffinés et le fruit. Extrême longueur en bouche.

Color: A dark, rich tawny with a faint tint of red still peeking through. Clear, but not vibrantly so. Nose: I don't recall much alcohol on the nose, which is good. Otherwise typical of older Colheitas. This one didn't remind me of Madeira, either, which is also good. Palate: Rich, luscious, smooth... all-around yummy. Nicely balanced acidity that was very present, but not overpowering. Lots of caramel and a little cinnamon. They only (very minor) detraction was just a tiny …

20.0% alcohol. This was really pretty. Honeyed color. Really lovely nose of nuts and raisin, with a rich, almost melon-like fruitiness. Bright structure, but the most impressive thing is the caressing finish that rolls on and on without too much dominant heat. A-

Nose of hazelnut, grape, walnut, caramel, crème brûlée and prunes. Nose was initially a bit sharp but the alcohol dissipated a bit in glass. The finish was just wonderful, as the fragrance stays in your mouth long after you've swallowed the wine.

Color: A very rich and moderately dark tawny with remaining hints of red and developing brown tones. Nose: Somewhat spirity and starting to madeirize (is that a word?). Some toffee-like notes and a good amount of oak. Palate: Caramel, faint vanilla, and oak backed by significant heat (but in a pleasant way). After some time in glass (and several sips) some cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar can be found. There's a bit of orange rind (including the bitterness) and a …

Compared side by side to Quinta do Noval 10yr Tawny, The Colheita was lighter more tawny in color, similar in aroma, perhaps a bit spicier. The '64 was hot and zippy, mellow caramel, light brown sugar and golden sultanas. The 10yr was surprisingly much mellower in mouth-feel, but had a more burnt sugar/caramel flavor.

BBQ at Palmero - June 2008 (My house) : Beautiful orangeish brown color, a nose of maple syrup (think BucWheats cereal), cinammon, caramel, wow it was quite amazing. Decanted for 5 hours. Acidity still present and a long finish. Not cloyingly sweet at all.

Colheita, Douro Red, and Dinner (Seattle, WA) : A nice deep amber with an orange rim. The nose is spicy with some tingly alcohol. Also present are caramel, praline, and dried orange peel. Somewhat monolithic on the palate. Medium to full body on the palate, lush and round with a slippery mouth feel. Softer acidity. The finish shows a touch of oxidation, stronger acidity, some tannin, caramel, and spice. A very nice wine to sip and contemplate.
