This was drunk in a restaurant with no formal notes taken. Decanted at the table, this was immediately accessible. It is in a perfect spot and is a first rate Chablis Grand Cru.

A touch on the oxidised side for some reason. Probably past its best. Still good, but not as good as before, like so many of us. Time can be cruel.

Delicious but any better than cheaper AUS/NZ/SA chardonnays of a similar style... I'm not so sure any more.

92/100 Lots of stone fruits like white peach, toast, an aromatic wine with very mineral palate and good depth. Round and buttery, it’s a clean cut commercial wine, sure, but as always, I’m enjoying every drop of it.

92+/100 Beautiful light chalky Chablis Les Blanchots from Domaine Laroche. Salty, with a pinch of bell pepper and bitterness as it heats in the glass, stony mineral, good structure and one lingering, enjoyable aftertaste. So sad that I’ve finished off all my bottles and don’t have a single Laroche 2011 to store and see how it develops. RP 92, AG 91, ST 91+ Conventional and correct, maybe - but enjoyable nonetheless.

Small taste. Not much on the nose; but if butter and mineral. Steely palate, not creamy as nose suggests. Oak comes out as wine warms; butterscotch.

Straw colored. Aromas of lemons and grapefruit. Grapefruit and a hint of almond on the palate. Nicely balanced acidity. Not very complex, but very enjoyable.

Pale straw-yellow. Modern style that is clean as a whistle and boasts an smooth texture and superb easy-drinking countenance with some apparent alcohol on the finish. . The nose is all mineral and ripe lime peel and the palate impression even at this stage is one of harmony. Drinks well now but should develop (under stelvin) for 3=5 years.

Visit to Laroche in Chablis (Chablis) : Nose with apple, a hint of peach, discrete perfume notes. Fruitier nose than the 2011 Petit Chablis. Palate with green apple, mineral, rather high acidity, good concentration, slightly spicy, long and mineral aftertaste. Approachable now.

Medium straw colour with a medium to medium+ intensity on the nose. Positives: Any easy drinking Chablis that's not overly steely and a nice balance of fruit and minerality. The wine features lemon, dill, green apples, white peach, quince apple, limestone and chalk. Medium body with good acidity and a fairly long length. Negatives: None Interesting Point: This wine won silver at the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) Drink now or over the next 2 years on its own …
