Even though this wine was consumed very late it was a fantastic experience and surprisingly good. starting very closed and won very well with dark berries and pickled prunes.

Has got quite complex and savoury aromas of cigars, smoke, cassis, gravel and blackcurrants. Its medium bodied austere and linear palate has some smoke infused red and blackfruits. Ends shortish and very dry. A bit overoaked and simple on the palate.

Bright clear ruby. Vanilla dominates nose. Tannin follows through, with a good finish, but not much fruit evident.

Dark, red rim, maturing well. Powerful, balanced claret. Hints of vanilla and cedar. Enjoyable

Still young, stains the rim purple. Quite light, with definite vanilla on the nose. Worryingly thin and bitter fruits. Not as good as expected. Bitter aftertaste. Disappointing.

From 375. Medium/deep ruby core, medium pale garnet rim. Nose shows smokey black fruit, hints of vanilla and green pepper. Medium bodied on the palate, smoky and quite juicy blackcurrant fruit, tasty if only moderately intense, moderate, slightly chalky tannins, medium/good length fresh finish with a slight, not unwelcome, green pepper note. By no means a great wine but pretty decent value for money.

Garnet red. Cedar, plums, and some coffee and pencil on the nose. Sweet with wood, graphite, red cherries, and a bit of cafe mocha. The mouth-feel is quite chalky. Raspberry and bitter cocoa on the finish. Caveat: tried on a Delta flight, am pretty sure that I tried it before and that it was not nearly this good.

Bright ruby red. Blackberry on the nose. Thin-bodied. Not much front or mid-palate other than a general mild sweetness; the majority of the wine emerges on the finish, which is tannic and tastes of blackberry wine. It gets a bit brooding, and more interesting, towards the end of the very long finish. It actually went well with steak au poivre and sweet potato fries, but is not good alone. Disclaimer: drunk on a plane en route to Milan.

Ruby red with warming fruit cake aromas. Made in an easy, soft style with well balanced blackcurrant fruit and light cedary tannins.

Everything is there; cassis, vanilla and even some lead pencil, but overall the wine is quite light bodied and lacking intensity. Needs another 2 - 3 years of ageing and will definitely still be ok in 2015.

I think there is definitely room for improvement in this wine. Lovely toasty nose of coffee and bramble with flavours of cassis and black coffee that just sit on your tongue, almost reminiscent of a Porter Ale with toasted oats. The finish is of reasonable length for a wine so young.

Medium bodied. A little toasted oak and some cassis. Ok tannin. Not bad, not impressive either.

Light ruby with a pale rim. A fresh nose, showing black currant, green pepper and chocolate notes. It has an attractive character, with juicy black currant and leafy notes set in a lightweight texture. Good balance, a nice little drink. Developing well over the evening. Merlot showing up on 2nd day (40% Merlot). A sweet and juicy mouthful, creamy and balanced. Short but harmonius claret with a good finish. Very useful in the cellar and ready to drink if given …
