Im direkten Vergleich mit ES Halenberg 14. Hat etwas mehr RS, mehr Körper, hat mir etwas besser gefallen als ES.

Colour still rather pale but starting to turn yellow. Nose off beeswax, honey, dill Kräuter and yellow fruit. Hint of some petrol coming through but very faint. I get some rubbery thing as well like from a newly opened canister of tennis balls. Taste in line with nose with perfectly matched acidity. Coats the mouth if you let it warm and has a long aftertaste with some bitterness coming through at the end. Very good wine

GGs with the Jeroboam Club (Little Shop and Pantry, Bristol) : Very very pale. The nose screams 'Riesling' with streaks of lime and hints of petrol. Apple too, and flor-like yeasty notes. It's steely and austere until the first sip which surprises for its richness and decadence. But it's still strict and stern, with a strong grip and lots of energy. The finish is sweet, ripe and long. Towering wine.

Enjoyed this over the course of ~5 days, and definitely was most interesting and complete on the final day. Requires plenty of air or more cellar time. Great in the GG category.

Beautiful classic Riesling nose of peach, honey, pear, a bit of kiwi. Tint hint of sweetness on an overall dry mineral filled palate - with white fruit and strong herbal presence. Long finish with more salty herbs. A lovely intense dry Riesling with superb balance.

Helles grüngelb; an der Nase exotische Frucht, Flintstein, florale Noten, eher subtil; am Gaumen dann Explosion von Ananas, Litschi, gelbem Steinobst, reifem Pfirsich und guter Mineralik, extrem langer, ausgewogener, spannender und trinkiger Abgang!

Medium bodied, traditionally styled. Nose reticent today, even with hours of air. Palate is a champion of classic Riesling: white flowers and stone fruit, shells and minerality, citrus zest, honey and browned apple in the long finish. No petrol yet. After a few hours the mouthfeel becomes oily and coating. Well balanced, and well worth waiting to consume -- perhaps 5+ years.

Young, but very good. Wonderfully elegant weight with a sense of richness deep within. White peach, sweet herbs, oyster shell, and slate. Great salinity to this wine that added complexity. I really enjoyed this wine and would love to see how it tastes in 5 years.

Popped, poured, consumed over next 90 minutes. Started out a little spritzy, but settled down quickly. Whatever that is on the nose, I'm a fan. Wonderfully balanced, intense tapestry of citrus, pear, nectarine, and seashell with suggestions of white flowers in the lifted, lingering, lip-smacking finish. There are hints of further complexity in reserve.

Tasted a few days after the 2014 Felseneck GG. This is showing a little more at this point. First some of the typical spontanous fermentation notes, blowing off quickly. Notes of citrus, peach, steel, slate, smokey minerality, some spices, honey, some shrimp shell, wet stone. It's medium-full bodied but has the Riesling typical weightlessness and tension. High acidity. Very long finish with a lot of tension. At this point I would give this the edge over the Felseneck. Both are …

second bottle of this, open and decanted for 2 hrs, now this is what I think of from Halenberg, intense yet so lithe. Very clean and clear in color. Nothing sticking out in flavor elements just very harmonious such that any RS was not evident, very electric!
