Red around the rim. More red fruit. This will rate 94 in 3-5 years. Decanted and drank within 20 minutes. Should have waited 1-2 hours. Plenty of life left.

No longer as powerful on entry, but a complex, layered wine. More like a BDX blend than straight up Cab. Still very enjoyable and the wine of the evening at a friend’s b-day party.

My notes from January still apply. Has aged well and is just a simply pleasurable bottle. Nothing amazing but so delicious. Drinks like an amped down Silencieux.

This has aged well and mellowed over the past 5 1/2 years since my last bottle. But at the same time lost some of its edge. Nice layers of flavor, good body and smooth finish are the highlights. Very pleasant. I'd drink up as this is starting to head in the direction of being just another nice mid-week Napa cab.

My favorite wine this year. Grapes sourced from Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper vineyard. Style is more restrained than the big brawny Napa cabs I normally enjoy - a bit more Left Bank in style. Paired well with both venison and lamb chops. Terrific complexity, with dark blue fruits, menthol, tobacco, mocha and a touch of dustiness. The second bottle of the night was a 2008 Keating from another Beckstoffer vineyard, George III. The Magie Rouge was the superior wine (though the …

Beautiful mature Napa cab. New world fruit balanced by acid. Drying tannins worked well with pizza

Ruby color, not showing signs of aging there. Red fruit and spices in the nose. Taste of currant and light oak, with slightly herbal finish. Didn’t blow me away but I liked it and reasonable QPR for whatI paid on WTSO

disappointing - expected much more from this for the price and pedigree. Tasted like a supermarket wine, thin and sweet.

Stands squarely in the new world camp. Too sweet, too much fruit.

A bit disappointing. However, we opened this bottle anticipating a steak dinner... then menu was changed. So a marginal pairing may, admittedly, be part of the problem. Yes, it's a big wine, dense, concentrated black fruit and chocolate(!) yet not much on the nose. It lacked complexity and was without the nuance I have learned to expect from Luc Morlet. Closed the bottle and will report after Night #2. Not much change.

Nose of dark currant, leather, and hints of red licorice. Palate of red currant, tobacco leaf, and touches of bell pepper that remind of Silver Oak Bonny's Vineyard. Peppery tannins, waxy oak, sweet cherry, and chocolate notes on the finish.

Much smoother for the two additional years of bottle age. Pure fruit. Medium concentration. Nice acidity. A beautiful wine.

A powerful and complex Cabernet that is drinking well right now. Dark purple, almost black in color; full in body; nose of blackberry, new asphalt, and rosemary - pungent smells, but also inviting. Rich tastes of boysenberry, black cherry, graphite, and cedar, with a pleasantly tannic finish. 15% alcohol. Clearly has the ability to age, though it is coming out of what I imagine was a dense period. Blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Petit Verdot. I'm personally a …

Needed more decanting as it was a bit tight on this night. Dark, deep wine with nice complexity. Tannins were a bit harsh on the finish. Good acidity. Solid in most aspects - just needed to open up and round out.

A word of WARNING; if you have this wine let it sit for at least 2-3 years. On the first day it was tightly wound and grow hair on your tongue tannic. On day 2 it opened up expressing Bing cherry evolving to black cherry, raspberry, blueberry, and a hint of creme de cassis. The tannins became beautifully round and velvety and a very long smooth finish. Lots of potential but still very primary...if you must drink it open it …

This is good wine but for some reason isn't what I'm looking for. It had the napa valley black fruits but it's really... grapey. Sweetish and massive. Like I said, objectively, this is well made juice. Sweet black fruits, tannins beginning to mature with great weight and texture to match the fruit. But it's lacking... soul or character? Not to get to philosophical about it, it tastes pre-fab. Like a planned community with beautiful houses that all look the same. …

Big and rich. Blackberry, blueberry pie and blackcherry. Sweet, layered, compex and rich. Big bodied and unreal. Just a knockout. Tannins were perfectly integrated and the finish was unreal. 30 seconds plus. So good!!!

Way too young. It has promise but right now it's tough to taste past the tannins.
