Quite closed all of day one. I believe it needs more time in the bottle. On the second day it was very nice, enough rich fruit but not so much as to be ponderous. Balanced and enjoyable. It easily smoked a silver oak Alexander valley (which it should at the higher price point).

Excellent structure to this wine. Tannin-forward. Agree that this has “mountain” fruit attributes. Lean. Fruit is definitely reticent at the moment. I have concerns about this improving with time, though I hope I’m wrong.

4th Saturday Group: Uptown Brown Bag (MM's) : Double blind. Vanilla, clay and black fruit notes, and a touch hot. Raspberry and black currants on the palate with a slightly ripe, almost plummy finish. (J&S)
