Fourth bottle from a half case purchased from a reputable German merchant. Showing very well, beautifully intense and concentrated in spite of its light weight (11.5% ABV), fresh and linear, with chalky minerality, apple and zesty citrus, hint of spicy minerality, very pure skin bitters, hint of peach on the finish, very good resonance and length. More subtle nose than the Zind Humbrecht next to it, no petrol evident, round, softer white fruit, a noticeable leesy cheesiness, finish is softer and less imposing than other vintages…with air this seems to shed some fat, a wine like me with layers of dormant muscle, the finish continues to lengthen and become more acidic with palpable mineral saltiness, zesty citrus; primary yet tasty this should probably sleep for a couple years before checking in again.

First bottle from a half case purchased from a reputable German merchant. Very much terroir driven, stony and tightly wound but with just a whiff of residual sugar (RS 6.2 gr/l) for balance, light body (11.5% ABV) but lovely intensity, hint of wax, citrus and green apple, vibrant acidity (TA 7.8 gr/l) carries trough to the finish, very good persistence. Lovely energy and tension now, will last.

Excellent nose with classical riesling notes, not too tropical. In the mouth it is dominated by soaring acidity. Personally I usually like such a level of acidity, however for this specific wine I'm not sure if it has enough fruit to support it. The 'sauvage' is in most vintages one of my favorite values, but I'm not convinced yet of this one. I will test more bottles later.
