Still beautiful, spicy, and floral but this is traded some fruit and verve for better integration and lesser persona. Drink over the next year or so. -2020

A private dinner (Restaurant Oaxen Krog **, Sweden, Stockholm) : Very mildly reduced on the nose but this clears up, fruity and tingling Szechuan pepper, red cherries and minerals, hints of bacon and of warm spice, peaches and roses, fresh and flowing but with delicate (if firm) tannic grip, pure and precise, transparent and expressive, slightly tight but with a lovely natural sweetness of fruit, very good length. great qpr, lovely crunchy red suit and mushrooms, forest floor. I guess it could have benefited from longer ageing. Gives a good Burgundy a run for the money

Amazing bottle of wine! Meaty, syrah-like fruit, with notes of cranberry, liquorice, herbs, leather and very pronounced, almost salty, minerality. Light tannins and fresh acidity. Really, really good.

Salty licorice, dark cherry, raspberry and blueberry. A peppery and spicy note. Seems tightly wound and young still. Should have waited because there is probably potential here.

Juicy, living, and multi-layered with fresh citrus and stone-fruit flavors dusted with baking spices and wrapping a core of energetic, consistent minerality.

Ooooooh, this is a nerds wine. Crackling with energy and that tangy, slightly mineral Mencia goodness - lots of sappy, crunchy energy. However, underneath there is a calmness and depth and this has some of the Cornas-rusty-nail-and-blood. This is impressive. No idea how this will age though - it has freshness and vigour now.

Cinamon, cloves, and a depth of beautiful fruit. Single vineyard from 80-year old Mencia (90%) and Alicante Bouschet = Grenache vines. Drink now -2020.
