I think the structure is getting ahead of the fruit and suspect from other comments that this was better a few years ago. But still some nice fruit.

Still great. Muted red fruit, no tannins at this point. Very smooth.

This bottle tasted great. No decant and drank over 4 hours. Almost no sediment, very good purity, nice power, the fruit does have a baked/dried component to it.

The wine was decanted and enjoyed over two hours. The color is dark purple with a hint of bricking. The initial aromas were classic Buehler/Howell Mountain. Very nice mature cassis and ripe, roasted blackberry complimented by black rock minerality. The tannins are nicely integrated and the wine has a very nice fine, almost filigreed texture. The evolution of the wine was not for better or significant. Some fresh earthiness and stewed quality to the fruit emerged. There was a significant …

Served with rubbed and grilled flat iron steaks. Decanted about 45 minutes before serving. Intense cassis, berries, and a light spice (such as nutmeg) in the initial flavors. Viscous mid-range, intense fruit, good length. Reminds me of the 2012 Caymus and some will like it and some want. Not sure if it has the structure to age well, but it does be interesting to try in 5 years or so when some of the fruit declines.

I haven't had Buehler wines in awhile and after drinking this tonight, I realized what I've been missing. The nose is aromatic, full of dark cherry, baking spices, and anise. I may have even detected a bit of chocolate on the palate before the finish kicked in with some herbaceous notes and white pepper.

From K&L wine club - bottle came in frozen in transit so cork was 2/3 out. Don't know if it was compromised, but decided to give it a try. It was not. Little green on the nose, initially very fruit forward. Little air time balances it out with secondary tannins in the form of coffee and tobacco. Good value cab as always, but not spectacular.

Paired with roasted chicken. Also drank with DeBrand's chocolates for dessert. Wine opened up a bit sharp; but became very tasty after a bit. Really enjoyable

Black plum, red licorice, a touch of cedar. This has supple black plum and blackberry flavors, some chocolate notes on the finish. A bit hot, but solid.

Will not give this a poor rating since I have enjoyed this wine over the years. However, this vintage is past its' prime. Kept in ideal conditions, this should have been drunk earlier.

Popped and vinturi'd. Sadly, this wine was old and tired tasting. Lots of sediment, have a half bottle left, and will see if a day has helped, but believe it will be more of the same. Hung onto this for a couple years too long, it appears.

One of the worst wines I have had all year. I have had some good luck on 03s from solid producers such as Anderson's, Etude, Heitz and others but this is why I hate cheaper 03 Cabs from California. Stewed fruits, earth and stones. No balance and this wine is well past prime.

Enjoyed this bottle a few years ago, and decided to hold a couple. Really no difference. Needed a little time to breathe, but mostly unchanged with additional cellar time.

Bought 4 of these and drank the first a few years ago. Thought it would improve with age, but really very similar to the previous bottle. Still very good, but will drink the other 2 shortly.

Dark berries on the nose. More dark berries on the palate as well as black currant. Sweet and mild tannins. Not a very complicated wine but very tasty nonetheless. Moderately short finish.

Nose: Very sweet red fruit with some cassis. Some alcohol heat after aeration. Palate: The sweet red fruit showing with spice coming through at the end. Rather quick finish. Not bad.

Okay wine, tannins were well integrated but I had the vegetal note which bothered me. Was a little underwhelmed given the rating, decanted for 2 hours.

Easily able to echo the sentiments of most of the high 80s/low 90 point raters here. Just really, really nice everything. About a $23 bottle for me here in the midwest, but worth every penny and more. Stood up beautifully to a filet mignon. Shame I only have one bottle... :-(

Buehler is one of my absolute favorite Napa Cabs and a tremendous QPR. This one stays true to what I've come to expect from them. Fabulous dark fruit nose with cedar notes. Wonderfully concentrated blackberry & black currant flavors that have excellent depth. Ripe and slightly sweet, chewy tannins. Nicely balanced out with just enough acidity. This bottle drinks better than most of the $50+ Napa cabs for only $25. Very well done and highly recommended.

A typically competent QPR Cab from Buehler. And surprisingly as superior a 2003 as I have drank.
