Domaines Guyon & Bertagna - Portfolio Tasting (Gordons (Waltham, MA)) : Nose: Salami, pepper, Cherry, Strawberry and earth. Palate: Cherry, black pepper, strawberry and rhubarb notes. Soft, but has a wild brambly character. Finish: Slightly chalky and full of red fruit and cured meat notes.

Smelled much more complex than it tasted, but overall good. Nose of strawberry a little cream, smoke, and just a touch of funk. Taste was a little one dimensional - soft fruit and light tannins. Enjoyable but not spectacular. My last bottle. Drink up if you have them.

Dark. Initially this wine was ripe, with some menthol and dark fruits intermixed in the nose. The palate was somewhat clunky and disjointed with moderate tannins on the finish. Interestingly, after about an hour in the glass, the wine totally shut down and all that one could smell was the menthol and ester like aromas. No fruit evident and totally unenjoyable. I have never seen a wine transform and deteriorate as much as this one in such a short period …

My last bottle of this wine. Took it to dinner at Davids restaurant in Naperville with Allred and our wives. The best bottle yet and still showing strong. 91-92 points.

Took this to a neighbors house last night for a going away party. The couple who is moving to Seattle has always had a fondness for Burgundy so I thought they would enjoy this. This bottle was showing very well with similar notes as before. 90 points.

I thought this wine was drinking very well. I opened it for Pinto Envy because her recent Burg phase. A very well thought out a smooth wine for this average to good vintage in Burgundy. Medium bodied. Subtle tannins with notes of raspberries, truffles and cherry. Balanced finish. 89-90 points.
