Really drinking well. If you have more in your cellar you are safe. Having said that you would not be disappointed if you cracked one open now!

Full blown crowd pleaser. Lots of dark fruits and some dark chocolate and tobacco.

Enjoyed it with a steak dinner tonight. Good fruit, well-balanced, opened up nicely after pouring.

Wine was spoiled. Guess we should have opened it much before this.

(2017 bottling). Dark and richly purple color. Smells jammy and rich with complex plum, roasted fig, blackberry jam, along with caramel, pie crust, coffee and fig cookies. On the palate this is full-bodied with medium tannins and medium-low acidity. Juicy and suave with sweet plums, figs, blueberry jam, mixed with coffee, cola, pepper, dark chocolate, cedar. Bold, rich, smooth, delicious. What a cool and unique blend, basically a blend of other finished wines. This is composed of 44% of last …

Oops past it's prime. Bottled in 2014, non vintage. Concerned about the other bottling years.

B-. As fond as I am of Le Cuvier, this bottle was, at best, lackluster, and more honestly, off-putting. I wish that I could call it lambic, but the fruit was too thin. Too old? I don't recall when it arrived. Poured for company with great expectations. It was passed over for more pleasing fare. Will only be drunk if there's no stew on the horizon.

Le Cuvier Winery (Paso Robles, CA) : (2012 bottling) Very dark. Average nose. Quite tasty, but kind of one dimension. Some spices at the end.

Bordeaux style. Sweet nose, fruit forward with a hot finish. Probably good POP, but unfortunately not at this price.

Some people keep pointing out the flaws in Le Cuvier wines - too big, too much alcohol, no finesse, too this or too that. And in a way I think that may be true. But dang, this wine is yummy. Almost like a guilty pleasure - maybe I "shouldn't" like it, but I do. Deep dark garnet, meaty leathery aroma, medium bodied. Taste is a nice balace between fruity, earthy and spicy. Not a lot of depth of flavor, but …

John Munch's wines are nothing if not a surprise nearly every time. Lots of spice on the nose and palate; red fruit, with dark red in the background. Lots going on. And on day 3, this is smooth and still fun to drink.

Rich and ripe fruit with very little of anything else -- no tannins, no acidity, just alcoholic fruit juice. This is about as flabby as wine gets folks.

We haven't been big on decanting wines lately, but this one definitely benefits from a little airing-out. There's a lot going on & without a chance to breathe, it's the funkier, earthier aromas that are most prominent, masking some of the subtler spice notes and dulling the fruit. After a short decant, it all starts to come together in a much more harmonious fashion.

Took to lunch at Park Ave. with Rob/Bob, Steve C. and Youndy. This was in some pretty heady company: 2004 Neal and 1997 Seavy. Still, it showed very well, with red/black fruit vying for attention. Good acidity that was nice with the food. Nice balance. LC: 4.0- clove and cinnamon on palate, dark fruit. Somewhat lacking in the finish, but there is plenty on the palate, so almost not noticeable. Well rounded.
