This unique blend of 50% Castelão, 20% Camarate, and 15% Tinta Miuda has a fresh, medium to medium-high intensity nose of anise, herbs, dark berry, black cherry, and savoury earth aromas. The medium-full to full-bodied palate shows impressive concentration with well-structured tannins. It's dry with well-balanced aroma replays of dark berry-cherry flavours joined by some oak spice and plum notes. It has juicy acidity, while the lengthy finish is a touch grippy.

From a 375ml bottle. Subtle spicy oak and some red fruit on the nose. Medium bodied, smooth, showing some tart red fruit with subtle spicy oak, gentle tannins and good acidic structure. A solid read cheapie.

De cor já castanho apesar da pouca idade. Aromas de caramelos, morangos e terra preta úmida são intensos. Na boca sedoso, harmônico e no momento certo de degustá-lo. Creio que de agora em diante irá decair. Bem estruturado, bastante persistente e de tão maduro o doce predomina. Excelente vinho!

Le vin nous livre des flaveurs de prune murie à point, avec un boisé perceptible, une touche réglissé et une note de cannelle. La bouche est fondu, légèrement sucrée, grande souplesse, je préfèrerais un peu plus d'acidité mais il n'est pas trop pataud, l'alcool ne se ressent pas. Assez crowd pleaser. Bon rapport Q/P.

Visuel: Rubis intense aux reflets violacés Olfactif: Prunes légèrement confites, figues, mûres, chêne et note de vanille. Gustatif: Attaque sur les fruits noirs, belle fraicheur, boisé équilibré, légèrement vanillé, tanins souples, bonne acidité et sans mollesse. Léger sucre résiduel. Un beau rapport Q/P!

17/20 Coup de Coeur SAQ:16$c VISUEL: rubis marron assez foncé OLFACTIF: intensité moyenne, fruits noirs (figues) GUSTATIF: Je l'ai aimé et après 1/2 heure de carafe je lui donnais 15,5/20 (84/100) mais lorsque j'ai dégusté qq jours plus tard la moitié de la bouteille que j'avais pris soin de mettre mise dans une bouteille de 375cl quelle surprise ! Ce vin avait acquis une profondeur, une intensité, une suavité hors du commun. Je me serais cru sur un grand cru …

Nose: raisins, cherries, cacao Taste: ripe cherry, cacao, dried plum, balsamic notes, nice but a bit heavy

No fireworks. Hard to define nose; it never really opened up even after an hour in carafe. Soil, leather, old fruits? Not bad, but not quite it.

The first time I sampled this wine was at a tasting at the producers estate. I remembered the wine being way more fruit forward. Second time around, I found it almost neutral in fruit, with some oak and vegetal notes. Maybe some blueberry on the palate, but not much really going on.

Great typicity from this elegant Portuguese red with its subtle notes of figs, cherries and dusky plum fruit. Perhaps a little lacking in concentration but terrific value nonetheless.

Opaque black-purple color. Brooding, dark-toned nose with aromas of sweet figs, even Port wine, and nuances of sour cherry, cocoa oak and a hint of vanilla. Ripe, soft and supple on the palate with flavors of mocha oak, sweet figgy fruit and jammy red berries, backed up by more savory flavors of peppery spice. Blueberry jam and vanilla on the nose. Good fruit forward blueberries and smooth vanilla on the initial attack, med+acidity, but transitions to a sharp alcoholic finish which detracts from the wines otherwise delicious qualities.
