Nøtter og kirsebær på duft med hint av tre. Saftig og klar i frukten med frisk syre og balnserte tanniner. Flott lengde.

Looking at my tasting note from June 2021 makes me a little bit proud. Back then it was difficult to detect the wine's fruit under quite an austere tannic shell, however, I predicted it to come to the surface by 2024. That has turned out correct. Today the structure has loosened considerably and the wine displays a rich flavour of beautifully sweet cherries and mixed berries. What hasn't turned out correct was my expectation the wine to be a rather …

On opening, nose of oak, blueberries & balsamic, a massively acid palate adding blackcurrant and cranberry. Fresh. Left open but not decanted for 3 hours, acidity mellowed somewhat but still kept things fresh, smooth but noticeable tannins came to the fore. Fruit still present but now accompanied by espresso, almond and an almost vermouth like herbality. Very enjoyable with marinaded lamb chops & spaghetti al pomodoro. 2nd day felt fully ready, some spice and fruit more autumnal. last glass was …

Dark ruby color; touch of charcoal on the nose. Sprightly energy, even after all this time in the bottle. Somecfuitcis present, but secondary and tertiary notes have emerged. Still has a few years of life left.

Clean, balanced, and well-made Chianti Classico. But, no complexity, not much body and fruit. Better than Peppoli, as good as Fontodi, bit lesser than Antinori Riserva. Given that this is “reserved” and “old vine,” this should have showed better overall quality. Not recommended.

Opened 30 minutes before drinking, but did not decant. Brick red color, not much happening with the nose (a touch of clove or cinnamon?). Fruit has largely faded. Interesting secondary and tertiary notes remain: Chocolate, currant and a good measure of umami predominate. Tannins are still present, but overall, I think this one is on the downside of its life expectancy.

Very austere no real fruit all tannin at this moment in time. Will wait 4 years before trying again as there is a hint of something there underneath everything .

I have to agree with Vanderpee's TN. This comes across herbal (thyme), leafy and almond-like on the nose and quite austere on the palate. Not too pleasant. However, there is a noticeable core of rich sweet berries, which lurkes just beneath the surface, waiting for the tannic structure to clear the way. But this will take some time. It's a classically styled Chianti and I can imagine it to be an elegant and rather complex drink in three years. The …

Slowly drink over 4-5 hours, holding well and not bad for a CCR from a big producer. Dark ruby red, showing aromas of black Cherry, red berry, leather, vanilla, smoke and hints of licorice. Supple entry, with structure and acidity slowly kick in along with cherry, raspberry, earth, leather and plenty of spices. End with a nice lingering finish and chewy tannins. Quite an enjoyable bottle with fresh acidity and red fruits. Very much in contrast of ripe and plump …

This was a bit of a disappointment, OK wine with emphasize on herb/spice. Misses center and length and a bit dry. Hope it was a lesser bottle and next proves me wrong. 86-88

Definitely NOT a pop and pour. Took one hour decant to go from a ho-hum wine to a really special bottle. However, three hours in and it’s losing its lustre - so likely no long term cellaring potential. From Magnum.

PnD let air for 1hr. Consistent with previous note. Screwed up as I was going to keep this for 10 years. This is in such a great place of exquisite balance depth and complexity. Great finish with cherry and savoury notes. Wow. Who says CCR (even though this is a Rufina it is the same quality) can’t equal Brunello.

Medium weight with cherry skin and nicely steeped black tea tannins. Deep brick red with medium plus to high optical density and high reflectivity. Very intense nose, with aromatic compounds, cherry, tobacco, and some spicy florals. Medium to medium plus body, refreshing acidity, and medium plus tannin intensity with a dense and polished texture, and enough presence of the tannin on the back end to provide some structure and firmness. Flavours of cherry and plum on entry, with forest floor and aromatics coming on by midpalate to support a transtition to …

So we opened our second bottle, the first one was in April this year. Wow, even better then previous one. After one hour in the glass - great nose of dark cherries, cigar smoke, vanilla, cedar and it's getting better and better with more air time. Tasty and very fresh and balanced palate, medium plus silky finish. Great now, but most probably another year or two will seriously improve it again.

Dark tone of ruby with medium plus to high optical density. Excellent intensity and complexity nose that is very appealing, with grilled fruits (raspberry, blueberry, blackberry), light aromatic asphalt, and tobacco-infused potting soil. Also shows some coffee bean and really dark chocolate. Refreshing acidity, medium body, and an elegant mouthfeel (good concentration, but the density allows some transparency) with excellent tannic structure that does not overwhelm, but provides a rustic edge to the midpalate and backend. Flavours on the attack …

GTW Tuscan Reds Star Performers Tasting (8 Danks street, Sydney) : concentrated red cherry fruit, slight tobacco leaf, slightly herbaceousness. Rather good in a slightly old school way. Kind of remind me of some of the older Bordeaux I've had. Nice tannin structure, they're drying but fit well in the mouth and the fruit persists but grows more savoury on the long finish. Lively. Nice
