Very smooth, hints of dark chocolate, just right amount of acid. Tastes even better as you let it breathe.

Big, flavorful, layered, and complex Zin. Dark fruit, figs, raisins, and spice. Interesting and delicious. A bit expensive for a Zin, so moderate QPR. But I’m a fan.

Dark cherry and vanilla cream on the nose on open, then gets a bit more tannic/austere on the palate, with some rosemary/herbal notes and a bit of orange zest.

Seemed more extracted and a bit bigger, dark and brooding relative to previous vintages I’ve had. Distinct boysenberry aromas along with graham cracker. Delicious dark berries on the palette with some spice and nice tannins in the finish. There was a slight bitter component there but went away by the second day. Very tasty!

This was only OK. It was not nearly as flavorful as the 2017 Fredericks that we drank immediately before it. Fruit flavors were muted.

Not your prototypical Jammy zin. Lots of spice and some tannin. Very unique and enjoyable.

Notes of cedar and bramble berry on the nose, soft on the palate with balanced acidity and an extended finish. Lovely and drinking well young.

Very nice for a 21 already. PnP. Acidity is somewhat there and tannins are already very soft coming in only on the finish. Surprised by the maturity of the wine. Wondering if it's just vintage, or did they change something? Either way, great wine with nice fruit and spice notes notably pepper on the finish. The mouthfeel is velvet. I have no idea how this wine will develop as it's pretty close to the zone right now.

Cola, pepper, new leather/ tobacco, black fruits. Persistent drying, chalky tannins. The acidity tannin balance seems off. I think it drinks young and could use at least another year, maybe two plus yet. Should not have opened this one yet. Hold. Day 2, mostly tannins and little fruit. Likely won’t buy this SVD again.

A little unusual at first, and blind I would have taken this for a French Grenache 🤷🏼♂️. But a decant helped settle things down into a unique Zin with typical anise, black licorice notes and a bit of oak. A very nice change of pace that’s rewarded with some air-time…

I concur with the other tasters. This was quite a gem of intensity and depth and even sublimity. Amongst the best of Turley Zins I've tried. It may be tasteless to note, but more for myself, it's sad to see a wine like this hit $50 shipped/tax/base. Sometimes you have to pay the medium bucks to enjoy craft and quality, and certainly a case could be made (or any number of comparisons), in which this is a value gem.

This is an outstanding Zin. A 2021 Zin should not be drinking this good, this young. It's Very silky and delicious. Filled with dark and red fruits with a touch of dark chocolate.

Opened too early, but good nevertheless. Muted on the nose, but some dark fruits and oak. The flavor is somewhat muted as well, but good, and consistent with the nose. High acid and tannins. Good potential, but I wouldn't open another bottle until 2025.

Rattlesnake Ridge is an estate-owned and certified organic vineyard. Located at the top of Howell Mountain at about 2600 feet, the vines see more sun here then they would on the valley floor; however, it is much colder due to the elevation, and can even snow in the winter. All combined, these factors make for a truly unique wine: bold, strong tannins and an acid backbone that can only come from Howell Mountain.

I had this with smoked ribs on 9/12/18. It had a rich, powerful and elegant bouquet of blackberry, blueberry, burnt toast, cocoa, black pepper, licorice, spice and mineral aromas. The palate was rich, dense and elegant with flavors. That followed the nose. I think this is at its peak.

A sweet and juicy Zinfandel that should be drunk now. Dark purple in color, full in body, nose of cough syrup and blueberry. Tastes of plum, boysenberry, and gravel, with almost imperceptible tannins and a cloying sweetness on the finish. 15.3% alcohol. Too fruity, sugary, and monolithic to be very impressive.

Fragrant nose with plum and some earthiness prominent. Found this to be a very fruity almost jammy wine. Again plum was dominant for me, with cassis and some tobacco/leather. A bit more acidic than I would have predicted but it cut the jam-like quality so not bad in this case. Also found the tannins to be at a pretty good point. Overall pretty nice, but will wait a bit to open the remaining bottles of this vintage.
