Typische pfeffrige Nase mit überreifen exotischen Früchten/Banana/Mango im Hintergrund. Am Gaumen Fortsetzung mit wunderbarer, speichelproduzierender Säure.

A perfectly pleasant example of GV in a Federspiel mold. I expect a bit more from this producer, though, even at this level.

Another nice bottle from this producer. A really nice QPR Gruner that has been consistent. They make a nice rose also and a bonus.... just found out it's an organic wine.

Flickinger summer wines tasting (Chicago, IL) : Pretty textbook. I love that this is a no-fuss wine, and the pepper, green qualities of the grape show through very transparently. No attempts to primp up here, just completely zippy and honest wine. Great cut -- this is Austrian wine I could get behind.

Would agree with zhearr's review. Nice example from a reliable producer (have enjoyed a rose from them also) and had this a few times. Nice example of Gruner and good QPR. Give it a try can't go wrong.

open and accurately floral, slender, crisp, and mineral. a good entry-level example but doesn't scream top value to me. 87-88

Pear, white peach, touch of pineapple. chalk, lemon, red apple. Palate is nicely viscous, but bright and crisp. Delicious.

Pale straw color, slightly effervescent at first. Great nose of peach, citrus, white flowers and hints of grass and grapefruit. Full midpalate of tropical fruits and nice lingering finish despite the bright acidity. Real good value for the price.

Pale lemon color. A very pretty and generous nose full of tropical fruit aromas of mango and melon and pineapple, as well as some peach and apricot. There’s also a strong floral aspect of blooming spring flowers. And a bit of a yeasty note as well that reminds me of Hefeweizen or Belgian Witte. On the palate, it’s got some yeasty sponti flavors as well as the tropical fruits from the nose, backed by a strong spine of acid. The …

Don't drink white wines that often, but we really enjoyed this with Christmas dinner. I recall a nice balance of stony minerality and very slight sweetness, with a touch of acidity and tangy citrus flavors. It paired really well with 1st course of halibut with tarrogon buerre blanc and a butternut squash soup.

This vintage doesn't have the focus, intensity, or potency of aroma and flavor that I am used to in this wine. It's fine, nothing more.

Very light yellow color. Aromas of lemon and lime citrus, slate, and minerals. Medium to medium (+) body, bright acidity, medium finish, and consistent flavors on the palate. Has a suggestion of effervescence from the acidity which tingles on the tongue. Worked well with ramen, but this is best suited for seafood and shellfish; it would be perfect with oysters or sushi.
