C Blanc du Castel, Domaine du Castel

A big bold Chardonnay with good ripe fruit and excellent concentration along with some nice Oak and butteriness along with some really nice minerality. Really fantastic. Excellent qpr.

Intense. Beautiful bright transparent gold yellow. Full body. A mixture of flavors and tastes: oak, vanilla, earthy, leather. The fruits are much less dominant, mainly citrus, lime, apricot and apple. A very complex wine, maybe a little too complex for me.

WOW!!! A huge step up from the last tasting. Explosive smoky oak dry melon bouquet. Medium bodied with concentrated fruit flavors. Rich buttery oaky smoky dry peach, melon, pear flavors. Long oaky smoky finish. Good balance. Very Burgundian in style. Delicious. This bottle is more reminiscent of the previous vintages of this that I loved. Drinks well now. Drink now to 2031, possibly longer

91-92+. Nice deep golden color. Very rich voluptuous buttery honey bouquet. On the palette it is very rich broad and fat with nice concentrated flavors. Compared to previous vintages, this is a lot less mineral and more broad and fat and lush. Nice flavors of butter, pear, with some minerals and hence of citrus along with some good acidity. Pale gold to straw color. Buttery citrus pear Apple tart mineral bouquet. Medium bodied with very good concentration. Very tart and acidic with nice flavors of butter, pear, minerals. Long tart acidic finish. while this wine is quite good now it really needs time to fully open up shed some of it it's acids and it might even possibly fatten up. Light gold color. Nice bouquet of honey, butter, spice, oak with hints of pear and apple. Absolutely no signs of oxidation and still extremely youthful. Over time the intensity may have become a little less but it is still very fresh and youthful. On the palate it is thick and rich with nice toasty oaky buttery apple and pear flavors with a nice spicy long finish. Tastes like it could keep aging. Delicious now. Impressive. 14% ABV. Highly recommended

Not a ringer for a 1er Cru burgundy but not far off the mark. For me to meet that description, it requires complexity and depth and must be unctuous. This wine satisfies all those previous criteria. Besides the bright fruit and floral notes, this has a wonderful mineral edge and a subtle savory note. Quite possibly the best white wine I've had from the promised land.

What a beautiful wine! The nose on this wine shows lovely butter and brioche but still balanced with green fruit, apple, white pepper, and candied pear. Weekly tasting group #214; Israel (@ CvR) : Impressive bouquet with a firm dose of toasted oak, yellow tropical fruits and citrus. On the palate yellow fruits, vanilla, toast, pepper, grapefruit, a touch of sweetness, a bit fat with mild acidity and bitterness. Something special. Can use some ageing so everything can integrate.
