Pours a very rich purple. Aroma - blackberry, plum, sage, eucalyptus, lemongrass, some alcohol. Taste - mildly tannic, fairly fruit forward, but not jammy, alcohol, dried red fruits, cherry, and raspberry. There is a small alcohol burn at end, but not overwhelming.

Was sure expecting more from Thorn-Clark - especially since they make one of my favorites, Shotfire. Alas, this one didn't measure up to my expectations.

This wine is a blend of 53% Shiraz, 33% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Petit Verdot, aged for 12 months in French and American oak. Garnet color with an intense nose of black cherry, toasty oak and spices. Medium bodied, fruit forward but not jammy. Flavors of ripe black cherry and black currant lead to a spicy mid palate. There is also a touch of oak. The tannins are silky and the finish is long and fruity.

Shiraz and unidentified grapes (its Austrailian, it could be anything) make a very enjoyable wine. After an intial taste, I used the aerator which worked its magic and really brought out the berry and herbal notes in the wine. Great value.

This was better than expected for price, but I like Thorn-Clarke and think they do a nice job. Garnet with a clear rim. Nose of dark fruit, cherries and chocolate, and a hint of oak. Nice body, just short of full. Sweet tannins, somewhat short on the finish.

The nose offers some appealing notes of crushed black fruit and vanilla, but the wine fails to deliver on flavor and body. There are flavors of fruitcake, boysenberries, red bell pepper and a hint of sweet toasty oak, but there seems to be an acid deficit. The body and structure take the biggest hit, as the wine turns a bit thin and flabby on the finish. I had simliar impressions of the 2006 Thorn-Clarke Terra Borossa Cuvee. Not recommended. I'm …

RUSSK Full bodied. Nose of toffee and cooked fruit. Says 13.5% alc, but still feels like 14%. Complex and interesting, with a bit of a bitter finish. Not bad for an Ausie Shiraz (not normally my thing). Might buy more at $11.

Upon opening.. very opaque, strong alcohol nose, nice legs. Taste was rich and very smooth, almost silky, but with an acidic finish that wiped out the nice fruit flavors up front. After about an hour after opening, the acid finish began to fade. Smooth and rich with flavors of berries, currants and smoke. May age well... I don't know for sure but, am interested enough to buy a few bottles and cellar for a little while. For drinkability in the …

Rich nose with hints of black cherries, currants, and just a little smoke. Velvety mouth with the same black cherries, currants and smoke flavor. Very smooth as one comes to expect of wines from Thorn-Clarke (not the overt big mouth that is common with many others from the Barossa valley). A great value at $10.99 USD and leaves the impression that it will age well in the bottle for several years to come.

Fantastic value for a Cuvee blend at 15$. Well balanced dark fruits and spicyness on the finish.

Nose was weak, the palatte lacked a lot of fruity tastes. Very little finish. It was an OK wine and a middle of the road Shiraz, nothing that really stands out as exceptional--but not one to buy again.

Fairly typical shiraz blend, not very complex. Good fruit, with some spice and good tannins. Not bad for price but not sure it's something i'd go back for - will have to try again tomorrow. Was a good foil with jerk chicken though.

Purple, highly aromatic, showing raspberry, smoke -- lots of smoke -- and spice in the nose. Powerful, concentrated flavors of cherry, raspberry, smoke, baking chocolate, and oak notes on the finish. Balance is near-perfect; the wine is quite large, but there's enough acidity and tannin to balance it out most of the way. It's a little topheavy. Finish is everlasting. I wonder what the prior raters had; this was excellent. Highly recommended. Drink through 2015.

Meaty, juicy, deep and heavily extracted. Always like the mouthfeel of these Barrossa Shirazs, but I've yet to find a good food pairing. Was good right away and after a few hours of air time, but developed an off flavor on the second day. Good stuff, don't plan on saving it for a second day.
