Much better this time 5 years on and from regular bottle. Seems quite mature and in a good place to drink. Nothing exceptional about it, but at the same time more or less flawless. Easy to drink and enjoy.

Delicate but expressive, with notes of strawberry, peach, and raspberry and light florals. A subtle mineral. Nice lift. Fine mousse and a clean finish. A perfect bottle to mark a birthday.

Shiny medium-pale peach pink with fine bubbles. Citrus, white peach, pear, cotton candy, vanilla, white flowers, honeycomb, garden herbs and minerality. Medium bodied, medium-high acidity, medium-high structured, medium alcohol and long finish. Complex, refined and romantic. Supple and well-balanced. A rose champagne fit for Valentine’s Day dinner.

Uniquely creamy note on the nose and palate that was so alluring. As usual, initially precise before softening to reveal waves of gorgeous, delicate, yet persistent, red fruit. More than lived up to its billing (from me!) as on a par with the 08 cristal rose, at least for now. Great wine and my #2 on the night.

64%/36% blend of PN/chardonnay with 10 g/l dosage. Salmon pink/provencal rose colour. Lovely, elegant and precise from first pour. So enjoyable. Deeply rich nose and palate with air. Only problem with this wine is that hardly anybody will want to give it the extra hour really to develop given how flat out delicious it is from the start.

Another really nice bottle. I never noticed the savory quality, which stood out last night when compared to the '02 Elisabeth Salmon. Cherries, red grapefruit, cinnamon. Nice cut and mineral.

I have consistently loved this wine. This, and every bottle of it has been stunning. Salmon colored. Dry but fruity, highly aromatic. Creamy cherries and strawberries, red grapefruit, cinnamon and roses, minerals and a long finish.

Out of a .375 (I guess we all loaded up on that same Envoyer offer). Salmon/peach in color with a lively, focused bead. Focused nose of wild strawberries and raspberries. A coiled spring of flavors match the nose. It's just alive. Long finish that calls you back. Lovely stuff and already in a prime drinking window.

Drunk along side the 06 Deutz Cuvee William, this 08 Amour de Deutz Rose was all about tension, precision, and focus. Somewhat more interesting intellectually than hedonistically, and I suspect it will get even better with age. A cool pairing.

IMW 2018 Champagne - Prestige Tasting (Hyatt, San Francisco) : $216 64% pinot - 36% chardonnay. 9% still red pinot noir. Pale salmon-rose color. Slight apple and faint lees (like distant grains) on the nose. But very reticent. Softer acid profile though still high - typical of pinot-driven rosé. Feels like it went through malo. Adjusting for the softer acid profile, feels 6g dosage. Not very expressive.

A nice cleanser to finish a very fine evening. Nose shows fresh red berries, riper domesticated garden berries, like strawberries, wild strawberries and raspberries. Creamy palate with again wild strawberries and raspberries, followed by some rhubarbs and a fine streak of rather lively acidity. Very fine overall balance. A lovely & flirty Rosé. Often when I open up a bottle of Rosé-champagne I got postitive surprised. This bottle is no exception, It opens up quite quickly and have a nose of strawberries, iron, blood orange and marzipan. The flavour is sweet strawberries, raspberries, rhubarbs, marzipan, sweet blood orange, and a short but nice aftertaste. This is a wine that probably should be kept for a few more years but it´s already too good to spare. I love it!

Orange colour with an extreme amount of tiny bubbles. The nose is youthful showing cherry and rhubarbs. The palate is youthful and austere showing cherry stones that contracts the mouth in a nice long finish. After a couple of hours it opens up showing a nice lovery strawberry sweetness in the finish that was very nice!
