Hope & Grace Cabernet Sauvignon St. Helena

Decanted for about an hour before drinking.....smooth, fruit forward with Raspberries and blackberries, nice medium to long finish. Paired with Brisket and it was a beautiful marriage of wine and meat.

Good solid H&G wine. Priced perfectly. Will get so much better.

Fully opaque violet in the glass. Blackberry jam, cocoa, vanilla, and hints of tobacco leaf on the nose. Full bodied with very dense, concentrated black fruit on the palate rounded out by sweet tannins, medium + acidity, and good length. Crafted by winemaker Charles Hendricks from 100% Cabernet from Lewelling Ranch in St. Helena at the base of Spring Mountain aged 24 months in French oak. 14.4% alcohol. $85.

With a ripe, fleshy core of black currants, dark chocolate, violets and baking spices, this young Cabernet (100% varietal) is seductive from the get-go. Full-bodied, lush and round, it delivers its gorgeous fruit payload with plentiful silky tannins, well-integrated oak and no hint of heat from its 14.4% alcohol. The middle palate is dense and the finish is impressively long. Bravo to the winemaking team here! As good as it is now, this wine may merit an even higher score …
