Domaine du Cros (Philippe Teulier) Marcillac Les Rougiers

I am a fan of Marcillac for its tangy and mineral Atlantic character, even though the place is located quite far inland. This cuvée is more suave and ageworthy than its stable mate Lo Sang del Païs, which some people prefer, but I love it for its fragrant savoury blackcurrant tinged fruit with an ivy touch, strong minerals, smooth texture, mouth-watering acidity and decent backbone. Very good.
