Domaine Taupenot-Merme, Auxey-Duresses Premier Cru

Nice combination of fresh and dried red berries, some animal notes but most of all lots of iron oxide. Same character on the palate with quite pronounced tannins. The wine became more balanced after a short decant. Fine wine but the pronounced notes of iron/rust sort of bored me after a short while.

perfectly pleasant. Like a decent bourgogne rouge, but nothing that stands out.

Terroir-istes International - France, Burgundy, Auxy, Beaune, Savigny, Corton (Bishopscourt) : (Tasted Blind): A light to mid ruby colour. Aromas of earth, roasted meat, ripe red fruit and oak spices. The palate is forward with plenty of summer berries but also quite earthy and with the depth and concentration of a premier cru. With some power, the texture is grippy with a chalky sensation. Some herbal/green edges suggest possible stem inclusion, whilst the tart acid provides tension. The mid-palate lifts …

Bought at T-Merme place in 2014. A typical pinot, with good equilibrium and quite intense flavors, because of the 1er Cru category ! A nice work, and it was ok for tasting in '18.

Ok, but nothing special...

Servi au restaurant "le clown gourmand " à Chalon. Premier verre un peu froid, mais fruits rouges et noirs très présents au nez. Ensuite, les tannins ressortent et le reste est très plat. Décevant, il était sans doute trop tard.

Burgundy 2012 Day 3: Visit to Taupenot-Merme (Morey-St. Denis, Burgundy) : Lovely - this has really grown over the last one-and-a-half years in the bottle, showing beautifully this time round. Deep Red colour. Great fruity Pinot nose. Fresh and good fleshy fruit on the palate. Good concentration and weight. Some tannins and pepper in finish. Great QPR.

Soft and malleable red to purple fruits. V silky soft fruits.

Sweet cherries perfumed nose. Subdued peppers n floral notes. Initial Salty-ness that transforms to fleshy tannins n a dry finish that stretches very roundly. Less on the big fruits and complexity but its a smooth drinking wine. Quite acidic but its masked by its salty fruitiness
