Chateau Hosanna, Pomerol

Solid. Not the greatest vintage from C. Hosanna but this producer always delivers a quality Pomerol. May improve with time but fruit has peaked or is already past it. Still going strong on day 2

Tasted alongside the wonderful 2012. Also lovely and well made for this below par vintage, but less of everything and a bit of a whole in the mid palate. Good, but the 2012 ruled the flight. 93+

Actually pretty good for a 2011 Bordeaux. Somewhat tight and ungenerous for a Merlot based wine, but true to the vintage.

Round. Voluptuous medium tannin and medium acid. Black fruit black berry not much oak. Not too complex but medium finish. Enjoyed it. Hint of lemongrass too on the nose

Bordeaux 2011 - 10 Years On - 30 Reds : All tasted blind, not decanted. A few observations: 1) As expected, it's a mediocre vintage with many wines lacking depth and mid palate weight of great vintages. My average score for the reds was 91.3 pts vs group scores at more recent horizontals for 2010 (93.0), 2000 (92.7) and 2009 (93.9). 2) I expected more green/unripe notes and drying tannins but that is not the case (hence the solid 91.3 …

This is a serius wine. Even in this vintage. Beautiful bouquet & polish finish. When merlot shows this way I would love to drink more of it

A very good wine, beautiful on the palate and an intriguing nose of leather, fading fruit. Let down by a lack of acidity, however. A shame, as this would have provided a framework for everything else it has going on ...... In this vintage it can be forgiven, but at this price point expectations are always high.

Deep in color, chocolate, floral, black raspberry, cherry, oak and plum scents are easy to find. Plush, round textures, with layers of silky, velvety plum and cherry is made better by the wine�s freshness and length, which feel great on the palate. 93-95 Pts
