Another stunning bottle. Same impressions as my TN from 5/20/2025. Påskefrokost 2020 at home.

Wish we had more! Steak night. Decanted for an hour. This is holding up great. I like the wine spectator rating and notes with how it tasted. Delicious.

Medium yellow color. Rich, warm and broad bouquet of ripe fruits, flan, butter. Well contained on the palate with marks of plum, orange peel, white pepper, garrigue. There’s precision and balance and freshness. Certainly less fat and opulent than the nose indicate. What a great bottle of white VT, maybe the best I’ve ever had. Will be long lived.

A Room With a Vieux Strange that I finally am writing about a ten-year-old wine, and it’s not a red! Maybe being French had something to do with the fact that I left this wine to cellar for so many years (remember, 10 years is a lot at my age). Maybe it was the fact that I love white Rhone wines and I didn’t want to drink it. Whatever the reason, something just told me it was time. No, I’m …

This is wild stuff. Tasted over two days, it open as a rich wine with honey, spice, garrige, butter, cream. On day 2, a wee bit more relaxed with a cool, mineral side turning up in the mix, will live on, certainly, worth following. #x-mas

Consistent notes from six years ago. Aside from the color, this hasn't changed much. It's still fantastic.

Honey yellow, lustrous. Crushed herbs, lanolin, honeysuckle, orange peel. Powerful, intense flavours, leads with spice and honey, the crushed herb zest dominates, citrus peel, ripe melons, honeysuckle. Angular phenolic finish, needs time to loosen up.

Golden hue, bouquet of ripe stone fruits, including peach and apricot. Floral notes, with touches of white flowers and a smidge of honeyed sweetness. On the palate, an amazing balance between opulence and freshness. The fruit flavors intensify, with the stone fruits taking center stage, now accompanied by flavors of pear and citrus, with minerality that adds depth and a sense of terroir. The luxurious mouthfeel is both rich and velvety, coating the palate. There is a touch of vanilla …

Enjoyed with a fancy ceasar salad at Piero's in Las Vegas. A great way to start the meal, the wine was singing, still in its drinking window, consistent with my previous notes.

Divided the bottle into halves and drank over a couple days. This is a lighter yellow wine. On the strongly fragrant nose, I get honeycomb, papaya, a fresh flower array, and melon. The mouth is thick and rich, showing a mix of stone fruit flavors that fold into a very long, honeyed finish. Overall, this is a distinctive and quality wine. It would likely be best with a robust, multicourse meal in the Jim Harrison style. I enjoyed the experience …

We tri d this with a seafood paella and thought it was really nice! A change from chardonnay or viognier. Think this is rousanne based with a mixture of others.

Amazing notes of herb as citrus. In perfect balance. Not much experience with CdP blanc, but this was wonderful. Paired with scallops and seared duck breast.

Wonderful Winter White I can hear you all saying: “But Don, Spring came a month ago. Did you write this review way back when or what?” Well, I can’t speak for the rest of the country, but as I sat down to write this post one morning, I was greeted with snow on the ground covering both lawn and street, in fact, we had a 50 car pile-up that morning on one of our highways, and a temperature hovering around …

I love the heft of this medium bodied white, lots of gravitas. Pure citrus on the nose, but that is joined by mouthfilling glycerine melon, mineral, herbs, salinity, and a long finish that hints of almonds. Great complexity! This will age well for another five or more years, but right now it is fantastic. After an hour, the oak emerged, adding a further layer of complexity in the finish. Amazing with grilled Alaskan sockeye salmon.

Monthly Tasting Group HWS #140; C9duP Blanc (By AH) : Intense bouquet with hay, litchi, toast and smoke. On the palate white fruits, fennel, green herbs, vanilla, a bit salty, beautifully fresh acidity, minerals and some bitterness. Harmonious and concentrated wine. In a perfect drinking stage now. 93 - 94

- Yellow gold color and aromas of peach and has flavours of melon - Had this with soft shell crabs sauteed in butter. Great with the food. I'll give the other bottles another year or two.

Drunk this too young (Jan. 2019) and too early after opening. Tropical notes, but still very highly structured. Almost too hard a mineralic edge. Served with some pan fried halibut over basmati rice and sauced with beurre blanc, served with some sautéed spinach with sesame oil and pine nuts. The structure served well in this context, but I wish I had waited a few years.

When first opened it was slightly disjointed, with a lot of intense tropical flavors. Tutti-Frutti. Full bodied and rich. After half an hour in the glass the wine changed drastically, with vanilla the dominant characteristic, seemed to add weight, all the tropicals were suppressed. This really is asking for another couple years in the cellar before approaching.

Removed from cellar and chilled to about 50 degrees and opened. Excellent tight cork, only about 1/3rd soaked. A golden yellow in color with long, lazy legs. The nose features white peach, waxed white beans, lanolin, whipped cream and floral spices. Excellent intensity, concentration, quite viscous, and still ample acidity. Decanted for 30 minutes. This improved in the glass quite a bit, the spiciness increasing with air. Perhaps a touch oxidated, but an excellent pairing with chicken alfredo pizza with …

This wine is fine. I'm a bit interested in how the "Drinking Window" goes to 2018? But, it is drinking very well right now and willl probably not get better. A little alchohol on the opening, but settles nicely and gets better and better. Let it open for 20-30 minutes before touching this and it is great. Color is a pale gold and ... wait, just took another taste... getting even better.

Anything but dead. Lighter in color than any California Chardonnay. Very fresh; aromas of straw, melon, very subtle oak. Balanced; good acidity. Just a touch of sherry-like oxidation on the palate added complexity. Has a good deal of time ahead of it. The flavor profile suggests this would be a very flexible wine with food. Price sticker still attached says $23.99; easily worth that, though probably not the $60+ current vintages command.
