Dark ruby red in color with very slight clearing at the edges. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, blueberries & plums with overtones of spice notes of nutmeg & cloves & floral notes of violets, earthy/dusty, minerals, cherry-cola & a slight hint of oak/vanilla. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, blueberries & pomegranate with spices, herbs, some cherry-cola notes, minerals & a hint …

Amazing for a 25 year old Rincon. Fruity, smooth, mellow. All the normal tannins traditionally associated w a Rincon have mellowed. Wish I decanted it but even the sediment was smooth. Was shocked & amazed at the length & legs of this older vintage. I typically favor Rosemary's over Rincon but a very nice wine. 5 more bottles to go.

Nose of raspberry with floral notes, initial taste was disappointing, not a lot there. Set it aside and fixed dinner, about 40 minutes, picked it up and took a drink and it was a different wine. Smoother, more body, darker fruits, blackberry and dark cherry, less acidity and softer tannins.

A shortish nose, but balanced by a great mouth and as good a length as I’ve experienced in quite some time, so much promise yet. The notes are still somewhat primary, with bing cherries and some root beer, but there are detectable traces of light red stuff such as violets and brush. I’d wait a few years for the remaining sour bottles, maybe starting in 2027? The length is my indicator here. Significant upside.

Ethereal and lifted on the nose, dried flowers and red fruit. Relatively soft, but light and bright, on the palate. A new direction for Talley? I hear yes. Excellent and exciting.

I underscored this last time. It is so good. In terms of Cali pinots that are more Burgundian in style this ranks up there with the best of them that are often 2-3x more expensive (Rhys and Littorai come to mind). Pnp, tannins are integrated and soft. Reserved red fruit, some pepper and spice, forest. Really good.

Lots of cranberries and dried herbs with some floral notes. Not your typical CA pinot with more reserved fruit and earth tones. Medium + finish and quite enjoyable

Oscuro. Color to rim. Substantial legs. Satin tannins. Morello cherries. Violets. Finish is forever.

Drink now. Give it about an hour of air. Big nose of plum, red cherries, bright fruit. Nice acidity, we’ll balanced, super enjoyable.

Based on recent CT reviews I lowered my expectations for this and, as often happens it seems, this had an inverse effect on my experience...this bottle was surprisingly good! Earthy, muddled fruit with (as said Galloni) cola and vanilla notes...a chalky essence as well. Drinking great on this day with no aeration, just PnP...with no change as it sat in the glass over an hour or so...in a traditional Pinot bowl.

PNP. cork perfect. color is light ruby. nose shows dense cherry and some earth. swishing shows acid and some spicy tannin but this is polished on the back end. sipping this shows mostly cherry fruit, with med weight. tannin creeps in at the end but just barely. this is a lighter style than one might expect from the central coast. the most delicate talley wine in recent memory and i quite like it.

Felt like it was over the hill already. Very dark, lots of notes of ripe plum. Nose is muted and medium finish. Expected more from this bottle - could be that it's a one off bottle. All in all, a little disappointing.

Cherry coke, pomegranate, raspberry and a hint of smoke. Spicy upfront. Very harmonious; red berries and baking spices mingle in the mid palate. The finish is fresh with notes of dried herbs.

Really nice although not quite cohesive yet. My rating is based on its potential. Its got all the elements needed, very nice ripe fruit predominantly Morello Cherry with dried raspberry ...lots of baking spice, crisp acid reinforcing from the time it hits the palate through the finish, a whisper of green stemminess and moderate grip on the finish. However its not showing super well right now, its need a few years of bottle age and it should show nicely. Currently, …

RP Leading off the single vineyard releases, the 2014 Pinot Noir Rincon Vineyard is a killer effort that has plenty of intensity and depth in its black cherry, raspberry, crushed flowers and underbrush aromas and flavors. Very fresh, floral and vibrant, with bright acidity, it has solid concentration and will keep for a decade. (JD) (8/2016)

PNP. cork perfect. color ruby garnet with orange edges. nose has dill, alcohol, and vanilla strawberry notes. swishing shows mostly alcohol heat and some VA notes on the finish. swishing shows some polish but the alcohol brings up the rear. not my favorite Rincon. seems hot and overripe. judging from the other notes probably waited too long on this one.

This one's definitely my last bottle! A bit clunky and one dimensional as compared to my last note. Nice, but not spectacular.

I find tonight's bottle to be a bit tired, and just a bit done. THe nose is quite wafting. The mouth is still quite present, and heavy on the dried red fruit with a nice bit of green grass. The follow through seems a bit short and a bit cola-like, i.e. without structure.

Extravaget nose, if a bit monolithic. Mouth of canned and dried cherries, some herby earth, and a lot of green leaves - nice. The length is sweet and very "mid palate", and somewhat extended. I'd say drink up. It's not going to get to the point of being extravagently good, but it is quite nice now.

This showed very bright pretty fruit that was actually on the young side. Didn't see the earthy darkness I usually associate with the Rincon. Nice acidity but a bit short. Was a favorite of the group on the night. I did hope for more complexity but this was an great example of Cali Pinot. This bottle didn't make me think you should be in a hurry to drink these.

Shows aged and dried. Very nice nose, aged and dried berry mouth, spicy/earthy length that is a bit much to bear. The wine is well aged, but perhaps prematurely harsh.

An excellent showing tonight. Excellent nose - rich, deep, dark, earthy; bright, well balanced tastes and mouth (dark, candied red fruit; woody, barky earth), and a fine length that's nicely ripe, earthy and persistent. Showing very well, and it's difficult to imagine that this bottling is going to get better, as it's very well balanced and very tasty now.

This bottle shows nicely aged but a bit tart on the tongue. The nose is dark and earthy, and the length is meaty (but a bit bright), but the mouth seems to have a bit of high pitched candied red fruit that's a bit distracting. Never really changed once opened.

This bottle is well balanced, if a bit on the "old" side. It shows nice flavors of dusty, foresty dirt, slightly dried plums, and sweet red spices. The length is good and lingering, and the mouth is "light in color" but full in both depth AND flavor. The overall balance is well received on this end. This is a great bottle, and shows well what these Roncon pinots can turn in to, even if they do so relatively quickly, as …

Talley Rincon Pinots; 4/1/2006-12/31/2006 : Opens primary, with cherry and acid, but reveals quite a bit after an hour of air. Blacker cherry and more complicated fruit flavors (raspberry, etc.), pepper, spice, piodine, and earth. The acid is still a bit high for me (I think that most Talley's are like this...) but the finish is still fine, and the mouth-filling mid-palate is fine. I think that this one might be a bit past it's prime, but I'm not quite …
