Nose is an earthy leathery bomb. Juicy and full of life on the pallate. Still surprisingly fruity for such and old wine. Really enjoying this.

40 years of Wine Tasting at DWS with John Pudduck and Graham Archer (Dulwich Wine Society) : Magnum. Slightly over the hill but lovely old school claret for all that. Quality:2/4 Price:1/3 X factor/interest:2/3 Total: 5/10

Very clear Medium garnet color - pretty. Aromas of earth, branches and tart fruit. Light bodied, pleasant old Bordeaux. More red fruit than I would have expected. Revision: about 4 hours in, this wine turned bitter and astringent. It was undrinkable the next day. If you have it, decant for 2 hours, then drink up.

Longue aération. Meilleure bouteille que la précédente...

Très bon vin, même si ce n'est pas le 90, encore moins le 70... Cerise noire et prune bien mûre finissent par apparaître au nez après décantation et longue aération. Bouche suave et assez ample, un peu mentholée et corsée, vin légèrement sur le déclin, mais vraiment très bon (pour ceux qui aiment le vin bien "mûr").

A nice example of an aged Bordeaux. Tannin seemed a tan brisk still...limited fruit...drink soon.
