Surprisingly good after all these years !! A remarkably perfect cork after about one and a half decades in the bottle. Consumed over ten hours. This zinfandel is tase in an old school style to allow the fruit to survive. Good dark color with mild oxidation with good clarity. Aromas of black currant and boysenberry. Flavors of black raspberry with a medium finish. This Zinfandel is still drinking well, great Napa fruit. I have no bottles of this vintage remaining. …

Still has fruit and some tannin. Good structure overall. Mid pallette a bit lean. Obviously tired at 13 years old but pleasantly good.

This wine has reached a peak, still big and shockingly bright at 10yrs, but the big jam flavor has subdued, very nice acidity, great peppery finish. wish I had more.

Bottle aged too long and was compromised

I was pleased and surprised that the wine was still holding up. With 40 min of decanted breathing time, the wine's nose still expressed dark fruit, plum aromas. The color was more than tinged brown, but it evolved over an hour, for me to enjoy it's offerings of subtle dried plums and relatively intense dark fruit flavors.

Muted red fruit with some spices. While tannins are relatively well integrated, this wine is showing quite a bit of alcohol. Medium legs and ruby to dark ruby color. Decent, but not great.

Bright red fruit and herb on the nose. Needed to decant for an hour to allow the true flavors to come out as the first sip out of the bottle was quite hot and Tight. An hour later outstanding.

Not sure about the other reviews, maybe there is a problem with bottle consistency. The wine had aged nicely and was well balanced. Could not tell it had 15.9% alcohol. Good fruit and complexity. Four of us drank it and all were impressed and we are not Zin lovers.

Nearly opaque violet color with kirsch, vanilla spice, and a hint of violet aromas. On the palate, it's fruity with sweet soft tannins, surprisingly good acidity. It's medium-bodied with black cherry, blackberry, cassis, vanilla spice and a hint of chocolate flavors Medium-long finish 15.3% abv www.enofylzwineblog.com

decanted 20 minutes Christmas night. Sweet, fruity bouquet. still a few tannins but they still take back seat to the sugary fruit. Fruit bomb? yes. Thick and sweet? yes? Perfectly balanced Zin? No, but still a great wine if you like big zin's and classic Rosenblums.

This a big fruit bomb which from rock pile, I was hoping for more terroir. Does have some tannin and structure but most if that is steam rolled by over Oakes candied fruit. Almost like a late harvest.

Not consistent with previous bottles, very disappointing. Light red brick colored, weak tannins, slightly sweet. Flat and flabby. Bottle irregularity or poor storage by retailer to blame.

Nose of oak, smoke, and dark spices. Blackberry pie and blueberry fruit palate is thick, rich, and sweet. Huge oak, resolved tannins, and dry fruit finish. Big and complex, but a bit aggressive.

This bottle had some of great Zin pepper, some very big fruit, and a creamy finish. Problem is it had an awful, pukey mid-palate upon opening. Review and photos here: http://www.thefreewineblog.com/2011/09/baby-birds.html

Decant this for an hour to smooth out the strong alcohol smell upon opening. Then, lots of dark jammy fruit that is leads to a rich and smooth taste on the palette. Medium finish with great tannins and a bit of spice.
