Ok bottle. Really not a lot of improvement. Tannins have softened but without any secondary characteristics. Pretty high acidity. Not sure where this is going.

Drinking just beautifully. Opened wine for out of town guest from California. The wine was just fantastic and much enjoyed by the group.

Earthy and fruity on the nose. Smooth and bold on the pallet. Lightly tanic with a rich dark cherry and blackberry finish.

Wanted to check in and see how this is doing. When first opened, almost brooding nose. Big tannins, mocha and chocolate. After slow ox of four hours, settled down nicely. Lots of acid, more than typical for a Hardscrabble. Muted red berries and graphite. Fine tannins. This should age quite nicely.

Strange nose initially but with some time open it settles down. Earthy, leathery cherry, black raspberry and some medicinal qualities that are hard to describe. Better at the winery. Needs bottle age.

Notes from day 2. Dark purple in color. Nose of cherry, herbs, earth Palate of cherry, cranberry, green pepper, graphite, spice. The finish was above average in length and there is good acidity present. Overall the wine was really nice, Jim never disappoints. Hold or Drink: 50+5+11+16+7 3

Brett's Birthday Tasting - 2013 (Weygandt Wines - Washington, D.C.) : Linden nails it with this wine. The nose shows smoke, sweet red plum, milk chocolate and dried herbs. Plump and juicy on the palate, with fresh acid and fine tannins to support the juicy red fruit. Notes of granite, loam and mocha last on the finish. I'm enjoying the whole approach of this wine, but I think a few years in the cellar could do some good. A blend …
