Blind Tasting - Premium Chardonnay (Bucklands Beach, Auckland) : stone fruits, some citrus, vanilla, butter, with gentle wet flour and smoke, rich and complicated, balanced within a full body, a slightly sweet/caramel core. lingering long with mild mineral notes. I thought it's Zen as it has beautifully multiple layers. it's good on weight, complexity and density. #1 by me and the group. CD 93 Ap 5/5, Ar 13/15, Palate 18/20, Overall 4+3/10 Total 93+/100

This is a decent Chardonnay. Straw color. Lemon, pear, peach. Not my favorite but a decent casual summer drinking wine.

POPCORN! If you ever wondered what they mean by “buttery California Chardonnay, here it is!! 😆🤣 I dislike mist of this style, but I like this one! Extremely floral nose Pineapple! Irises. Very showy and luscious! Taste - buttery and rich (we’re having it with mushroom-stuffed chicken). Starfruit. Fresh rain water. Bright acidity, and a very nice subtle herbaceous, slightly spicy finish. Nicely done, for a style I would normally not like. 89+++ Almost 90. But not for those who …

This is not that good of a California chardonnay. It had very buttery and oaky notes, with some notes of vanilla. I didn't get much minerality or fruit with this wine, which was slightly disappointing. I tend to like my chardonnay with more minerality and less sweetness. Don't spend over $30 for this bottle.

I think this bottle is getting some harsh reviews, mainly because of quality vs cost. However when you snag it for $17 that ratio improves. Overall if the bottle landed more in the $20-$25 dollar range it would be a more enticing buy. Anything about $35 would be a crime.

Cami says…Carmel and a hint of vanilla bean and slight toasted marshmallow on the nose. Full fruit on the first sip that’s creamy, a bit of butter and balanced acid and finishing with a clean, smooth flow of yummy. Because this Chardonnay is so enjoyable it competes with my favorite snack, theatre buttered popcorn.

Given to me as a present by a friend for an extravagant dinner at Kokkari I took him and his wife out to a few weeks ago. He certainly had the resources, and the ability to access, if not have knowledge for, something considerably better. Had a strong sense this wouldn’t be my cup of tea, so I brought this out to dinner with the gifters. Oak, butter, vanilla and sweet apples and pears with a super viscous texture. A …
