The Blue Ox 2018 Let's Get Lost Blanc de Blanc was completely impressive. The wine was crisp, nice light color with lots of acidity but it didn't taste sharp, but just fresh. Frankly, this is immeasurably more enjoyable than a whole lot of the Champagnes I've sampled. Bright, lemon-rubbed apple fruit. Racy acidity. This sees only neutral oak but I thought I sensed just the right touch in the aroma. Young, but shows some depth; I'm not familiar with the Manchester Ridge fruit source but based on this I'd seek it out. I'm very impressed.

Fruit from Manchester Ridge Vineyard above Anderson Valley — 2,000ft elevation, 400ft above fog line. Stainless ferment followed by a few months in neutral oak. Pleasant green apple profile laced with oyster shell minerality, nice salinity, acidity isn't very pronounced like a typical Blanc de Blancs. Overall nice job by these guys in Berkeley!
