Elizabeth Spencer Pinot Noir Anderson Valley

Smooth on opening; nice balance; mild level of depth and complexity

Easy drinking Pinot. Pleasurable but not outstanding.

Nice earthy tones, good fruit, reasonable backbone but a little soft. Great food wine, not typically CA in style, and for me all the better for it.

Cranberry, cherry, allspice, and a touch of floral accents this wine. Begins nicely in the mouth with a hint of tart cranberry with a yeasty finish and great acidity. I think this would be well enjoyed w cheese and crackers or a salmon dish.

Black cherry and a hint of coffee on the nose. Cola and tart brambly fruit on the palate. Finish is med + in length with some lingering acidity. Medium weight, as pinots go. Still fairly fresh with another 5 years of life.

Didn't like this bottle as much as last time. Very tight and unyielding day one. Improved overnight. Similar to previous note on second day. OK but nothing special or memorable.

nice, smooth , a little peppery

Strong nose of black fruits and same on the palate. Plush with some structure, not much acidity. New world. Not overly complex but very pleasant. Did not improve overnight.

Bright disc. Light-to-medium ruby robe with red rim. Clean nose, showing bright red and black cherry aromas, with a bramble component. Medium-bodied on the palate, with medium acidity, light tannins and an easy-to-drink red and black fruit middle. Unfortunately, the middle thins out a bit and the finish could be longer. That said, from my local (discount) retailer for $26, this is a relative bargain. Drink now-12/12.
