Lots of oak and very ripe (almost sweet) fruits. Full bodied, gentle tannins, mild acidity with medium aftertaste. Very new world and easy drinking wine. Not particularly complex, but juicy and tasty.

Staff Favorites (Farpointe Cellar) : The nose had plum and cherry, some leather and mocha, and quite a bit of tobacco at the end. The palate had firm tannins and a lot of dark fruit. Underneath was chocolate and tobacco, and it had a good plum finish.

WIML89+ Tasted at a retail tasting. Dark garnet to purple color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of briar patch, blueberries, white pepper and a bit of plum. Flavors of berries, Bing cherries and a hint of raspberry. Medium acidity, firm tannins, medium to full body. Drink now with some air or continue to hold.

Aroma of plums and that creamy smell from being oaked. Some fruity sweetness on the palate but still a bit lean and one dimensional, and no complexity. Finishes with dry astringency (like a strong tea) and alcohol heat. Better with food than standalone. Not bad at all but didn't excite me either. 85 points. 2nd day after it was opened: tried again and liked it more. Tannins had settled down, it became a more lush/velvety wine with less astringency. Creamier …

A pleasant surprise, bought to top up a case purchase for delivery and delivered more than expected. Delicate tobacco on the nose moving into chocolate with a little fruit coming through after 30 minutes. Tasted of dark fruit and retained some of the tobacco. Quite well integrated and should last 3-5 years with those slight tannins. Great value wine, off for some more.

I went into this a sceptic but this is a very enjoyable bottle of wine. Loaded down with chocolate, leather, ripe black and red fruits, this also carries enough acidity and tannin to back everything up and works incredibly well with food. Enjoyed tonight with white farm cheese and sauteed greens and squash, this paired perfectly. Nice intensity, enough to stand up but not anywhere near over the top. Really good food wine, I will be going back for more.

90 Points and Above (Farpointe Cellar) : The nose had a whole bunch of milk chocolate, a little leather, and a mix of various red berries. The palate had some sweetness to it. It started with blackberry and plum, and then moved to leather and tobacco. It finished with a chili infused chocolate flavor.

Excellent wine. Oak was very prominent, but not overpowering. Cherries and blackberries on the palate. Very full. Excellent wine.

Big, oaky and intense. Long. Very good. Liquorice oak notes dominate the fruit, but theres plenty of everything.

Dark rubi, nose is full of toasted notes, coconut, vanila and caramel. Nice body and balance, soft texture and good balance. Nice finish. A little less oak would be better.

Cor rubi com leve halo, aromas de frutas vermelhas em compota, geléia, já com alguma evolução, ameixa, tabaco. Na boca corpo médio, macio, boa acidez/frescor. Uvas bem maduras. Média persistência. No geral não tão agradável.

Tasting of Argie wines (Brussels, Belgium) : Medium concentration of color and and very open nose of ripe red fruit, coffee and vainilla. In the mouth the attack is silky with a very ample mid palate and good balance as well as strong, lingering backflavours on hints of red fruit and spice. Very refined.

100% tempranillo from Zuccardi's Santa Rosa vineyards. Matured in medium-toast American oak barrels for 12 months. A fairly concentrated nose, possibly a bit lacking in tempranillo character. Very tannic and young. Powerful stuff. Huge structure – a big, brooding wine. Very Good Indeed.

The Tempranillo Differences (ABS-SP) : Dark rubi color, the nose is very concentrated on american oak influence, sweet vanilla, toasted notes, seductive, ready. The palate reveals unctuos and polished tannins, a little extra acidity would be better as well as a little less oak. Good persistence, very pleasant.
