There were flavours of dark plums infused with a little smoke and shot through with a streak of acidity. Underpinned with soft tannins it was sprinkled with white pepper. As it morphed on the mid-palate the initial savouriness developed sweetness, the wine gained flesh and the plums developed prunes. I really admired the complexity, overall balance and the decent length of finish. I had thought this might have been past it before opening, I was delighted to be proven wrong. …

The initial burst is of damson plums and blackberries supported with very soft tannins and shot through with an acidic backbone. The fruit is sweet and succulent and as the wine develops notes of chestnut come into play which are still prevalent on a long lingering finish. C: Deep garnet N: Not a huge bouquet but acidic with notes of plums T: Lively acidity with fruit flavours of prunes and blackberries.
