Pale to medium lemon in colour with lovely aromas of citrus, melon & blossoms. On the palate, medium bodied, somewhat rich, tart citrus/lemon, unripe stone fruit, brioche, floral/blossoms, hint background oak, high to medium acidity with a long finish to lemon zest, salinity & minerality. Fresh, lively, good flavour & structure still near the end of the drinking window, possibly a result of no malolactic fermentation. Nicely done!

Pale yellow. Nose shows classy oak and apple. Apple, leesy, with herb flavour profile. Medium body is like drinking silk. Very good and still youthful.

Made from a single vineyard, a blend of two clones, 50/50 Gingin and Bernard, pressed with whole bunches, aged for 10 months in FR oak, 20% new. Pale lemon colour. Intense aroma of lemon zest, lemon curd, stone, acacia, quince, peaches, pineapples, passionfruit, nutty and flinty hints. Medium+ body, zesty with creamy edges, deep and structured with bright medium+ acidity, touch of salinity and chalkiness.

Cool climate Chardonnay, whole bunch pressed, no malo, no batonage, 10m oak (20% new). Very elegant and subtle, but still concentrated and complex. Aromas of green apple, bruised apple, lemon, white peach, struck match and minerality. Great balance, M body, M supporting acidity and long finish

Absolutely in line with the very positive previous notes. Not in a new world style, at least for me very difficult to distinguish from a white Burgundy. Excellent qpr, 92-93+.

Chard-onn-YAY! I've been lamenting recently that all the Chardonnay I was drinking seemed lean and lacking the tropicality but this wine shows excellent balance. It's still young and fresh with vibrant acidity but there's also a generosity to the fruit with spiced nectarine and fresh pineapple. Some malo texture and a little bit of a yoghurty note. Lots going on here, really enjoyable.

Slightly darker than pale lemon in colour with aromas of citrus, lemon curd & brioche. On the palate, medium bodied, restrained rich, citrus, lemon curd, stone fruit, brioche, blossoms, hint spice, barely recognizable oak, medium+ acidity with a long finish to saline, chalky minerality. Good complexity & freshness here. Quality wine making. Despite the aging in 20% new oak, the oak is barely recognizable. And this is appreciated by oaked Chardonnay haters. Aging on the lees has definitely contributed to …

Brioche and lemon tart, from the first sip you can tell this is a really well-made wine. Savoury and concentrated, this should appeal to just about anyone.

👃 guava 👅 linear at PnP, then quickly rounds out on the palate. Medium acidity, ripe green apple, guava, pineapple, white peach. Not sure if this has any oak treatment but none detectable. Don't have much experience with Chardonnays. It's probably the best one I've had, this or an entry level Chablis. Picked it up due to reputation of the producer. Overall, it's fine but not amazing. For the price paid ($30) it's ok value in my books, but I …

Subtle nose of yellow stone fruit. Medium bodied, dry, crisp and elegant, showing discreet yellow stone fruit and subtle vanilla notes with good acidic structure. Not your typical Oz chardonnay, more of burgundy style in this refined white. Actually very good and great pairing with the various sea food dishes at Bakfickan in Visby.

The wine has layers of lemon, sweet cumquat, grapefruit and other citrus scents and flavours. The mount feel has a slate salty, flinty notes at its core, with a mealy spicy cinnamon-clove oaky layer. Delicious lip smacking refill the glass wine

This wine has been a big disappointment to me.....both absolutely and in relation to its price point. The bottles were purchased in mid-2021. Not one of them has really been good. I did not even post a tasting note on a couple of them. This bottle was finally OK, but still not up to the price point. The problem could not have been caused by the store where I purchased it, as it was a special order and picked up …

Promising on the nose with sharp citrus, clean reduction and small hint of oak. Med body with riper fruits, some lees work and oak. Much better nose than palate. Lacks acidity leading to imbalance. Fully developed. Good at price point but otherwise forgettable

Absolutely nothing wrong with this wine but it didn't quite grab me. Straddles a medium-climate style well; some faint wet hessian and old oak, a little flinty and lines of acid. Some citrus. Perhaps didn't quite fully hang together?

Blinds (Chicago, IL) : Served double blind. I seriously have to stop messing this one up. I tasted this and immediately guessed white Burgundy. The palate isn't too concentrated or rich, but this has a powerful vein of acidity, as well as some really good minerality on the backend. It's blindingly obvious that this is chardonnay, of course. I ended up thinking this was a good village-level wine.

WSET blinds; 5/15/2017-6/11/2017 (Chicago, IL) : Served double blind. Deeply reductive nose, this has a very classic white Burgundian style that I adore. There's a bit of white fruit on the nose and palate as well, and the fruit seems to tilt towards a bit of a slightly sweeter style. The flinty reduction also continues from the nose onto the palate, but this wine seems a little bitter towards the end. I did end up guessing white Burgundy -- should …

Australia/New Zealand night (Chicago, IL) : Serious chardonnay here that easily outclasses lots of those so-called "premium" California renditions. Full-bodied and broad-shouldered, this is a very rich and dense chardonnay that still holds together with lots of acidity. The fruit, interestingly enough, seemed to be more white-tinted than yellow, which I found a bit strange given the heft and ripeness of this.
