A very good QPR at $19 I'm not sure we'll be able to stay away from this long enough for it to show its true potential. Nicely paired with a cuban beef dish. The spice in the wine really played well with the beef dish. Nose is dark with a little spice. Palate is dark with lots of tannins and dark brambly fruit. Finish is medium long. This is a delicious rioja, somewhat heavy on the raspberry but not without earthy tones, a touch of cherry throughout and particularly during the finish. Paired nicely with a sirloin and spicy mushroom reduction.
