Small Supper with Friends - Mixed Burgs (Chez Moi) : Honied papaya on the nose, white flowers and a touch of honeysuckle too. Palate has great structure with an acid frame supporting the papaya and pineapple fruit. There are a couple of drops of lime juice there too. Last minute grab from the wine fridge and punching above its weight.

Very nice wine, not as much depth as I would have hoped but still excellent and plenty of life still left in there.

Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine is of pale gold colour, with fading rims and legs. Nose: Clean, with pronounced intensity aromas of citrus fruit of lemon peel and orange marmalade, green fruit of pear, stone fruit of apricot, tropical fruit of mango, sweet spice of ginger, maturity notes of honey. The wine is developing. Palate: Sweet with high acidity, the wine has medium (+) alcohol, full body, with medium (+) intensity flavours of citrus fruit of orange marmalade, stone …

Amber hue. Aromas of dried fruit, honey, and peaches. Palate reveals apricot and orange. Very long, lasting finish. Majority Semillon (80-90%), with the remainder from Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle.

Intens honning, mango, ekstrem friskhet og struktur til prisen - smakt Sauternes til 10 ganger prisen som er mer grøtete og oversøtt enn dette. Små hint av umami, sopp og blåmugg. Flott vin, genial til prisen.

My guess is there must be some serious effort took place to the wine, in the pristine balance at the moment, light golden colour, nose is simply superb, white acacia flowers, sweet minerals, and a touch of honey and much more subtle fragrance! On the palate, sweet but not too sweet, tons of sweet mineral fruits! Light to medium body, never felt heavy, easygoing, soothing on the palate, a mini Rieussec without doubt! Put a smile on my face! I had just returned from a week in Sauternes and I decided to pull this to try with my chicken/crème fraiche dish that I have prepared countless times. Normally, I serve a Chardonnay with the meal and Sauternes with the dessert, but here, the tides had clearly shifted. Nutty and sweet, with countless flavors, this is memorable. In a good way. A very, very good way. thedrunkencyclist.com

Pear and underripe peach, crème caramel, graphite, igneous rock, apricot syrup, slightly metallic/mineral note, subtle saffron, rice pudding with saffron. Viscous yet not heavy, mouthfilling, floral vanilla, tahnini, also freshens and lightens from mid-palate, green apricot poached in saffron, white chocolate,

This was great! My Gran loved it. It had honeyed aromas of peaches, apricots, cloves, vanilla and beeswax. Its medium bodied concentrated and lush plate was just terrific with wonderful depth and layering. Ended medium and balanced. Disappeared very quickly. My Gran asked for another bottle!

Med gold; rich nose, complex, butter, caramel, hints of white flowers and minerals; good thread of acidity running through this keeping things from getting too heavy. Quite rich and unctuous. Young - very long finish, lasts well over 20 seconds. Very good.

Strogeel.

Left Bank Bordeaux Group Tasting (Chez Matt et Reema) : Group-member said this is made from Rieussec's younger vines. A good way to try the vintage/rieussec without having to wait a long time for the grand vin. A good bit of botrytis with lots of honeyed apricot, dried fruit, candied orange peel. A bit too much RS which made the wine feel cloying and noticable VA were the only flaws but all in all a good sauternes.

Golden colour; smells of sweet grilled pineapples with a hint of sweet honeyed apricots. On the palate, it is very simple where the sweet pineapples and dried apricots are layered with some botyrized fruit. Not cloying at all; somewhat light-medium bodied with a short-medium finish. The acidity is not enough to keep up with the sweetness of this wine; don't think this has a long cellar life. This is a very good priced Sauternes in my opinion($20 for the bottle).

Cracking Sauternes with acidity, structure, viscosity and a luscious mouth-feel that initially had me thinking that it was the main wine. Beautiful gold colour with peaches, apricots and creme brulee and an awesome length. Hard to believe that this was sub £20!

Medium gold - a lot of botrytis on the nose, baked apple and honey, but with some more complex nuances backing it up, hard to pinpoint - sweet entry, soft and lacking acidity, but not flabby either, it builds on the mid-palate and finishes well with very good length - sorta sneaky good - but very sweet - on palate, the honey and botrytis notes echo, with a smoky overlay and ripe apricot and dried mango fruit - nice wine …

A delicious and well-priced sauternes. Beautiful aromas and flavors of cooked pineapple, apricots, marmalade, creme brulee and caramel; light on the acidity; luscious flavors fill the mouth, linger through the midpalate and descend into a long, mouthwatering finish, with hints of baking spices and orange peel at the end. Beautiful nose of honey and orange peel. Unfortunately I just open the bottle 1 hour before serving it, but I think this wine should have been poured in a decanter. At the beginning it is tight with a kind of plastic stinkiness that fades away after it sits and warms up. 85% Semillon, 10% Sauvignon Blanc, 5% Muscadelle. 18 months in barrel. Pale golden yellow. All the varied rainbow of pineapple flavours (from slightly brown skinned - i.e., oxidised - ripe pineapple through to candy-crystallised pineapple. Custard, cream, citrus rind, green apricot and flowers. But I make it sound more complex than it really is. A decent Sauternes that lacks depth. Enjoyed the experience but it did not have any excitement. However, and a big however; 1 1/2 months later a quarter of the half bottle was left. I fully expected to dump it down the drain. It was excellent with creme brulee notes and nice balance. Upgraded from an 87 to a 91. Wish I had bought more.

shared with pat, ellen, mahesh, grandma and grandpa pomponio, donna, giulio and frankie at the christmas table (selkirk manor). i agree with other tasters that this wine offers flavors of stonefruit, such as apricot and peach, as well as hints of honey and caramel. i am not an afficionado of sauternes, so i can't hazzard a guess regarding longevity. however, i believe it is significantly shorter than what is suggested by community average. the wine did not offer much aroma …
