Vinoptima, Ormond Gewurztraminer Reserve, Gisborne

Another of the "bargain" Vinoptima releases from the company's receivers. Followed advice and, after removing the capsule, ran the neck under hot water before perfectly extracting the cork (a real problem with these wines!). Golden hue, lychee and Turkish delight on the nose. Good weight, with some distinctly savoury notes in amongst the full fruit and sweetness. Complex in a good way. Even better the following night.
