Frontón de Oro Listán Negro Gran Canaria Tinto Tradicional

I don’t pick up the reductive flintiness as prominently as another review - it’s a faint background note. The nose is dominated by sweet forest berry notes - wild strawberry, blackberries - and also faint notes of violet. On the palate, it’s quite fruit forward with darker fruit than the nose. The mid-palate is a bit awkward with some bitterness and fruit fading quickly into red apple tannins. Generally, this is vey much lacking acidity to balance the overwhelming fruit.

From a 375ml bottle. Medium bodied, supple and rather smooth, showing juicy tart red cherries with peppery notes, gentle tannic bite and good acidity. Good stuff.

Nicely balanced, good energy, black pepper, minerals.

Transparent ruby red colour with thin brim. Nose is very mineral with notes of struck match, red and dark berries, cherries and some herbs. Mouthfeel is light, mineral, with good fruit, smooth tannins, nice acidity and notes of struck match, cherries, red berries, pepper and black tea. It has a strong volcanic feel to it, with iron and struck match notes, and it's just a great wine!
