Prior bottle was 21 months ago and this wine continues to drink well. Pear, white peach and white apple on the nose with a bit of lemon and mineral notes in the background. Between light and medium bodied with rounded white apple and slightly bright pear upfront. Mid-body adds white peach which has gained a bit of expression, assisted by mixed white tropical notes. These tropical qualities have integrated quite well with the backside, allowing the lemon to be a …

Still going very strong, this has retained its apple and pear profile, unlike Champalous of the past, which tended to veer towards honeyed notes after a few years. Not as crisp as before but still very fresh. It's really very good and excellent value.

Prior bottle was a bit over 2 years and 2 months ago and this wine has evolved positively and held up quite well. Pear and lemon on the nose with peach and mineral behind. Between light and medium bodied with a very similar fruit profile to the prior bottle. There's apple and pear upfront with a good amount of brightness and definition. The white peach comes in through the middle, followed by hints of white tropical qualities behind. They tropical …

More intense than 10 months ago Pear, lemon; of course Valerian, celery seed, and cereal on the nose Some honey and iron steer me away from the riesling similarity others noted, sweet body notwithstanding The acid and minerals are indeed, great Good, if still a little vague, or should I say, Definitely a food wine

Screaming acid showing limes, unripe pineapple, mango. Honeycomb. A straw/hay note that I usually associate with Riesling. A touch of bitterness at the finish.

Similar to last note. Drank over three days this time and it improves with air. It’s somewhere between sec and tendre in sweetness, delicate, yet round and richly fruity, and has plenty of fresh acidity to balance. A touch of spice and delicate white flower notes. I think this is probably the best entry level Vouvray I’ve ever tried. It should keep well and develop over several years. If drinking now I would suggest decanting.

Pale color; prominent alcohol, mango, pear, peach. Have opened 2 of 4. Agree with earlier comments: similar to a Riesling, and might pair well with Indian or spicy East Asian foods.

Pear, peach and lemon notes on the nose. Between light and medium bodied (12.5% ABV) with clean and expressive white apple/pear upfront. The pear note is quite lengthy and actually stays in the background for the entire wine; a fairly unique and interesting quality. Opens up through the middle and softens, showing pretty peach and some mixed tropical notes and then gains backbone with lemon, balanced acidity and lingering mineral and tart qualities. Drinking quite well at present and really …

Good, but not as good as almost every single other person in this forum says it is What little lanolin there is dissipates quickly in the glass. Decent acidity/viscosity balance the first night, but much better when the minerals come out to play the last 3. Hanging on to my other bottle at least a year to see if that nice pear projects a little more

On the first night I thought it was a nice wine, especially for the price. It had a slightly bitter aftertaste and I rated it an 89. On the second night the wine showed tremendous improvement, especially on the palate without any bitterness and nice citrus and floral notes. Second night it was a 90-91.

Really lovely stuff and an outstanding QPR. Extremely pale yellow, almost clear. On the nose is some white peach, white flowers, and a touch of wet slate. Mineral notes come through on the palate along with ripe apples, lemon zest, daisies, peach and a touch of smokiness. The classic lanolin note is there, but you have to look for it. Might have blind guessed an Albariño or dry Riesling. Some minerality to the mouthfeel and zippy acidity makes this a …

Fruit forward and juicy Vouvray, ripe citrus, peach, tropical. But there is also a elegant floral side and mineral notes that add complexity. Surprisingly round yet light on the palate, good length and a bit of sweetness on the finish. First impression is this is a wine for drinking early, but on second thought I think this delicate softness (from lees and RS?) might be a bit deceiving. Will be interesting to follow over a few (5+?) years. Really great …

A very sweet and floral nose, mostly tropical fruit salad and candied lemon. Medium bodied with a pleasing tart acidity. Strong minerality, and slight grassiness on the sneaky long finish. A nice effort for the vintage, very food friendly.

On both the nose and the palette you get a lot of raw honey, green apple, and quince. Both the minerals and the fruit were very balanced in this wine, but I was hoping it had a little more of a punch. Pairs well with cheese like a Sainte Maure de Touraine

Pale, barely gray. Vivid nose of Bartlett pear, Jazz apple, white pepper, sharpening stone. On arrival, medium acidity and medium glycerol texture; dry. Fruit plate again in the mouth, bone-dry and some energy. Medium intensity finish. A bit mismatched for my taste to our cheese course of St Nectaire and Bucheron.

We are met with quite careful but well balanced nose with fresh pears, exotic fruits like pineapple and some stone and minerals. The acidity is direct but still quite soft and a bit tingling and it is backed up by similar fruit as on the nose but also an abundance of citrus, mainly lemon but also lime. This wine has an amazing freshness from the acidity, but also a good base with fruit. Very elegant and precise.

PnP at refrigerator temperature. Presents as a pale yellow with green highlights. When first opened, it was very shy, and needed to breathe and warm up a bit to show well. Nose was floral and funky with a smidgen of volatile acidity. Lively on the palate with upfront lemon-lime flavors, backed up by chalk, a touch of tropical flowers, and bracing high acidity. One of the best whites we've had. It would be excellent with seafood, but was enjoyed with …

Not a *lot* of weight, but a slight honeyed viscosity in the mouth, brightened by a good amount of acid. Very slightly floral, good fruit, medium finish. Noticeable residual sugar but so much as to put off the sugar-averse in the crowd. On the light side, but very nicely balanced. Good stuff. 12.5%, $21.

Put simply, this wine made me love both Vouvray and Chenin Blanc. What really impressed me about this wine is the fullness of the mouthfeel. It is almost inexplicably satisfying as it coats your palate. Bright green apples and lemon peel dominate this wine which, combined with the full mouthfeel and a pinch of sweetness--which I think works perfectly--make this a glowing example of great, humble Vouvray that rivals just about any other white I've had.
