Le Rose de Giscours

Bu en succ. Beau ros� assez ample et dense. Pas mal de mati�re. Florale et �pic�, des agrumes, des p�ches et des herbes. Pas mal long en finale. Bien.

This is my kind of rose...100% cabernet with cocoa dust and chocolate perfume over fresh strawberry and melon rhind with excellent balance, allowing it some short time aging and improvement. While I don't think that the wine would gain weight with time, the nose should become more bordeaux and more fantastic to my funky liking. I will drink large format over next 3 years....Drink at your leisure.

Just arrived! Directly from the Dutch importer, 100% Cabernet-Sauvignon from the coolest terroirs at Giscours, direct press, fermented for 8-12 days at 17�-18�C in stainless steel, 13% ABV. Very fresh, slightly reduced on the nose, vibrant and energetic, dry but juicy, spices and blackcurrant leaf, floral note, pure and direct, peach and unripe strawberry, hint of cherry, subtle bitters, ripe lemon finish, good length. Good stuff, and this may gain another point in the next 12-18 months.

Ready now. Will not improve.

Drinking fine. Seems little changed fom my notes last summer

Berry Bros. & Rudd Bordeaux Tasting Evening (Amoy Street) : From a magnum bottle. Pop and poured. Appearance is clear, medium intensity, salmon-pink colour. Slightly darker shade of pink than the usual Rosé, could pass off as bright red. Legs. Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of redcurrant, strawberries, spice. Youthful. After a string of Provence roses something totally different Beautiful red color, carmine, clear Smell: caramel, watermelon, red currant Taste: some strawberry, lemon, raspberry, hint of rosemary; not very dry, leans to a little sweet; long aftertaste in back of the mouth/throat Overall very enjoyable, especially with a light meal/sandwich

A chilled bottle with BBQ - smoked sausage, burger, rocket, hallumi - very good, light, fresh and not over sweet. Couple use a little more acid and perhaps fruit. Well balanced tho, quite short

Beautiful bright ruby coloured rose. Relatively dark. Nose has sweet red fruit, green apple, and gooseberries. Palate is medium bodied, but very forward in the mouth. The taste is quite short with little in terms of acidity. Almost all of the taste is on the front of the tongue. It is ok, but not very exciting. Drink within a year. 1 = ok
