Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Petits Monts

Superb, thought this feels more than 2 years behind the 2007. It's more dense and less expressive than the 2007. In time this may likely be the better wine, but it certainly isn't displaying the precociousness that I've considered a hallmark of this producer. One of the better wines in a tasting of 7 Liger-Belair wines today.

Ripe, modestly full, not particularly energetic, and somewhat lacking in complexity. Overall, less than I hoped for, but still very good

Winos' excellent adventure in France; 6/22/2017-6/27/2017 (All over France) : Really sexy nose displaying intense decadent black fruits, 50% crushed fruit mixed with 50% jam, blackberry dominates, ink, sap, lavender, mocha, a hint of oak/sesame and strong mineral. Exceptional concentration, beautifully layered intense black fruits, perfect amount of acidity and a hint of fine silky tannins. Certainly very youthful but the intense opulent fruit makes it so pleasurable to drink.

This shows big and lush fruit but with lovely integration that has a vanilla note to it, nice minerality and sweet finish. Delicious but way too young.
