Not really up to par - had a bit of magic on the nose, but was taken over by acidity in the mouth over time. Some flaw to this bottle. NR

The nodoguro (Ocean Drive) : Darker in style compared to the ABC but not lacking in any way. Bouquet plenty of spice and power in wonderful balance - blood orange, grapefruit, eucalyptus and aniseed dominate. Palate showing pretty lively and youthful with good finesse and elegance.

Burgundy Grand Cru with either first or last name with initial A, B, F, G, H, R and T : Pronounced nose intensity with notes of red fruits, toast, pepper, flora, violet, prune, fig, sweet date. Medium+ acidity and medium+ tannin. Tannin are velvety and polished. Long finish. Drinking at its peak now. Did not decant.

light toned nose with great fruit. sexy and lovely in the mouth, velvety like licking suede. in a way reminded me a bit of a pomerol. lacked the complexity of the older Jadot clos de beze

Birthday Wine Dinner : The person that brought this was worried that it was shut down based on a small taste before dinner. By the time dinner came around, this was really firing to my tastes. Dark berries, spice, mocha, and some earthy notes mixed in. Silky. Drinking well now, but no rush.

Avec les 2008, on ne sait jamais sur quel pied on va danser... Quel millésime compliqué, alors qu'il goutait si bien à sa sortie. Sur cette bouteille, il en tient le côté obscur, la force un peu contenue mais acidulée, anguleuse, un rien austère. It's a bit of a blocky wine right now, with quite a bit of oak showing, but the oak isn't the nasty astringent kind, so I suspect this will work itself out in the end. (S.K.Y. restaurant, Pilsen, Chicago IL) : The nose is robust and balanced with a touch of oak poking through along with raspberries, cranberries, sour red berries, licorice, leather, earth notes, and violets. There is excellent complexity right now, but the tones aren’t playing in full harmony just yet. Wonderful silky, fresh crushed wild berries, almost liqueured with perfumed cherry and raspberry yet still transparent. Nice firm structure with dusty fine tannins, earth and crushed rock minerality...very pretty and somewhat exotic sandalwood spices and dried flower florals. Still vibrant with crunchy tartness...well integrated wood smoked oak...and just the slightest of sous bois beginning to show. A tasty sipper right now...but should only gain and make old bones. +pts

Leiden spring dinner : This has opened up considerably. Red fruit, fullbodied, great mouthfeel, soft round tannins. Echezeaux can sometimes be dissapointing, but this is a great example and a big wine. Good to drink now, I think this will get even better with some more years in bottle.

It's all here. Beauty of a nose - pinot fruit, sous bois, a little wood. Steely body, on the masculine and darker cherry fruit side of things. Some wood tannin on the finish. Byo at Pineapple and Pearls.

Nose - violets, slight skunky at first mouth - smooth, savory plum, somewhat restrained though I could see this slowly unfurl with time. Definitely grew on me. Hold until at least 2022

No formal note, was too busy just enjoying the wine, which served as a great reminder that I don't drink enough GC red Burgundy. The descriptors are already out there. That said, this strikes, for me, a wonderful balance of fruit (variety), earth (place) and the beginning of age as well, with some more developed secondary notes really resonating on the palate and the mind. Masterful balance here, and clearly with the goods to age many more years. Lovely. recommended …

Poised, elegant and remarkably drinkable, with beautiful fine tannins, subtle oak and excellent concentration of dark fruits. After 1 hour in the decanter, the fruit became distinctly black (black cherries +) and more refined. Continued to refine quite remarkably and to darken and intensify, so by 2 hours it was very fine grained, with lovely blueberry -> black currant flavours among the red / black cherries: no mean feat. Wonderful creamy black cherry, raspberry fruit....with a good amount cherry skin acidity to give it some sour.....gorgeous exotic spice(not as so as the dusty DRC Ech), tobacco leaves, sassafras, and some smoked game. Obviously needs some time....but really tasty, with room to grow! +pts
