Thierry Violot-Guillemard Saint-Romain Sous le Château

Light garnet color. Nose of earth and mushrooms. Palate of tart cherry, forest floor, and slight smoke and licorice. Opened up in the glass somewhat. Better than I thought it was going to be but overall an austere Burgundy.

Rather thin, not much fruit, disappointing generally.
