Slightly fizzy in the bottle! Needed a good shake up to dissipate the petillance. Anyway, a lovely archetypal jellybaby Grenache here. It has picked up a few darker and deeper notes with age, and a better balance, but not much has changed since 2010! Bouquet is high-toned leather, sea-breeze and strawberry liqueur with the merest whiff of minty herbs. Palate lovely, sweetish, soft, again tonnes of very in-your-face strawberry liqueur. An assertive bitterness kicks in to shape the flavour. Alcohol …

A tad bit too oaky for my taste, but I'm no expert. Really full-bodied. Would certainly pair with a steak or lamb or venison. Something heavy in nature. The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like medium toast and oak. It tastes like chocolate, tobacco and garrigue. The body is full. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

This wine was good but seemed a bit soft around the edges for me. But that was after tasting a Cru Beaujolais, a feminine European Pinot Noir and a Nebbiolo. Flabby wouldn't be the right word, but. Good wine, though. I have 2 more bottles and will drink them up and not hold them as long as some other wine drinkers have suggested.

This was a hot mess. The alcohol was still really strong and it was hot and disjointed, but i think that there is a real beauty hiding in here. The aromas were great and you could taste some of the flavors. Should have decanted. NR

Southern Rhone night : Mid-red. Shouts Grenache on sight. Bouquet simple, uninteresting, reticent. Palate soft, decadently fruity and silky smooth. Like wine gums. Hot/spicy finish. An extremely sensual and pleasurable wine, but with almost no secondary interest. No idea on the ageing-mileage for this.
