Very easy drinking, plush and meaty wine. I understand this is temperanillo a la portugese. Normally higher end riojas can go for a while, so I would give it another 3-5 years. QPR is so so.

Weekly tasting group #086; Spain and Portugal versus Italy (@ SB) : Garnet red brown. Lush bouquet with ripe red fruits, chocolate, mocha and eucalyptus in the bouquet. On the palate vanilla, ripe dark forest fruits, a lot of sweetness and also good acidity, soft tannin and a firm dose of alcohol. Full bodied and a lot of everything. A wine made in the cellar.

Decanted for 2 hours, round and ripe, well integrated oak, some sweetness, but not much vanilla. Dark berries, long finish, on the top now, but will hold 2-3 more years. Excellent with grilled secreto ibérico...

Weekly tasting group #069; A fully blind test. (@ WW) : Blood red and still a youthful color. The bouquet shows some sweetness of red as well as dark forest fruits. On the palate a firm amount of sweetness, eucalyptus and a firm amount of good oak. A very good wine, but a bit too easy because of the sweetness.

Dark red with still a purple hue. Expressive bouquet with ripe berry fruits, smoke and some sweetness. On the palate beautiful oak, ripe black fruits, silky soft tannin and some chocolate. Smooth, soft and fairly complex. Completely ready now, and no real hurry. Lovely wine.

A clear striking dark violet. Needs time open, but then you are rewarded with smokey dark plums, roasted ham, and blackberry. Rich and full bodied with plenty of fruit showing the way. Nice weight and a velvet texture. Long, with a developed not harsh finish picking up some hints of cocoa and cream.

Decanted for two hours. A drawing violet and garnet core, with a lightening rim. A continuous nose of ripe plum, lily's, chocolate cream pie, toffee and oak. Wonderfully integrated and layered. The finish is smooth, long and fruit-filled. Vibrant acidity and round tannins that are still very present. Evolving in a patient and well-paced way. A beautiful Douro Table Vinho and enjoyable; so developed and fresh. Drink now - 2017.

Tasted at Quinta do Crasto in the Douro - Wow. Almost Port dark. Awesome nose. Oaky, but not too much. Earthy. Nice wine! Dark fruits. Stone fruit pits. Fine tannins. Medium length finish. The weight of a great cab franc. 90+ points.
